⚠️  Rescue us, rescued coffee tree ☕️

Do you know the coffee tree? It is the plant from which we obtain the coffee bean, the niche of this community. Have you ever seen it personally? In the images I show you some that I have photographed recently. 

Fortunately, I live in an area where there are large extensions of land with these crops. However, many of them are a bit abandoned. Some decades ago, several landowners decided to grow coffee in view of the atmospheric conditions here. Factors such as altitude, temperature and climate make it possible to harvest coffee of very good quality. And in fact it was, so much so that it is known in the region as a coffee growing zone. But the children of these people longed for a different future, far from the haciendas and coffee roasters. They wanted to study in order to work in an office or for companies that exploited black gold. So when the time came to pass the investments and agricultural resources to other hands, none of them stretched forward to receive them. So their quality deteriorated.

They are currently rescuing hectares of these crops. But the costs are considerable, as the quality of the plants is not the same, and many have to be replaced. However, the soil is so kind that many have responded to the treatment and care that has been given and have regained their strength. So as we pass through these sites we can see more and more plants that are healthy and reaching their full potential. 

This is very good news for all this sector: for the agricultural sector, because it generates jobs for the locals to harvest the raw material. For the commercial sector, because it keeps alive one of the most consumed items in commercial and tourist establishments. And for the family sector, because we will have fewer mothers with headaches because they did not drink coffee in the morning. Nothing like that! They will have more easily roasted and ground coffee in their kitchens. Yes, coffee has the power to activate various sectors of society, and rescue us if necessary. It is well worth all the work that is being done to rescue coffee trees again.
