Nestled comfortably in my reading nook, engulfed by tales of far-flung adventurers and their long-distance exploits, a spark ignited within me. I yearned for my own adrenaline-filled story, one born not just from the pages of an article or the frames of a YouTube video, but from my own experiences. In the throes of my newfound fascination, I decided to commence my own journey - not yet an epic odyssey, but a humble start, building my stamina for the greater adventures to come.

The tantalizing scent of my evening dinner lingered in the air as I prepared myself, physically and mentally, for the thrilling adventure that awaited. My destination? Eco Ardence, Setia Alam. My mode of travel? An exciting ride through the rhythmic pulse of the Federal Highway.

The ride began amidst the humdrum chaos of the infamous Bangsar South, a hotspot of traffic jams. However, as I exited towards Subang on the NKVE Highway, I found the night traffic surprisingly forgiving. The usually intimidating truckers were conspicuously scarce, allowing me to reach Eco Ardence in a swift half-hour. A quick rest at a bus stop painted a perfect pause on my adventure before I ventured back towards the throbbing heart of the City Centre of KL via the KESAS highway.

Midway through my journey, my heart leapt at the sight of a burning vehicle on the opposite side of the highway, its flames licking the air, casting ominous shadows. I prayed for the safety of all involved as I rode on, with the heavy knot in my stomach slowly unwinding at the next petrol station, where I took a quick break.

In the glimmering neon lights of the petrol station, I found myself at a crossroads. Do I cut my adventure short and seek the comfort of home, or do I push through towards the glittering cityscape of KL, despite knowing that the ticking clock was drawing hordes of vehicles to the city? With a spirit fueled by adrenaline, I chose the latter.

My heart pounded in my chest as I manoeuvred onto Jalan Sungai Besi, where I was immediately met with another hurdle – a traffic jam caused by a roadside accident. Once the path was cleared, I found myself gliding past the illuminated skyline of Kuala Lumpur, the majestic TRX tower standing as a beacon against the night sky.

But the city held more challenges. Filtering through traffic was not my forte, and yet, here I was, creeping between vehicles at a cautious 20-30 kph, while seasoned bikers zoomed past effortlessly, their 'kapcai' cutting through the traffic like knights charging into battle.

Post this dance with the traffic, I found myself once again stuck, this time enroute Hospital IJN and Titiwangsa. But as fate would have it, after this final gauntlet, I was treated to smooth, buttery roads leading me home. I chuckled at the thought of taking on the city centre at this hour again. But then again, where would the adventure be without a little stress?

Tired but exhilarated, I returned home with a slight soreness serving as a trophy of my adventurous night. As I planned for my next ride beyond the confines of Selangor, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. I had embarked on a journey, tasted adventure, and was left thirsting for more.
