How A Single Podcast Changed Our Lives ❗❗❗
***Hello Steemians!***

This blog post is specially dedicated towards @jaynie for her amazing support of my work. I'm writing this to reciprocate her wonderful [post](https://steemit.com/steemit/@jaynie/paying-it-forward-and-conquering-fears), which had me filled with various emotions. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, I am referring to her post in which she shared about our podcast interview, [STEEMON 2](https://dsound.audio/#/@aaronmcheong/steemon-2-jaynie-on-bloggers-secrets-to-success-in-steemit--building-a-proper-steemit-community). Honestly, there's just so much of *feels* right now and my mind is in a mess because I'm terrible in expressing myself through words (writing especially). Pardon me if this blog feels like a mess as you continue reading, but I selfishly hope that you can finish reading this piece because I'm super grateful for what @jaynie has done and I want to share with you how grateful I'm feeling right now.

### How It All Began?

Recently, I started a new podcast series called STEEMON. In this weekly podcast, we interview fellow Steemians whose lives has changed thanks to STEEM Blockchain and are currently working on projects/initiatives to help change the lives of others. As fate would have it, I managed to convince @jaynie to join us as our Special Guest for STEEMON 2 (which we did the podcast together last Friday and published it this Monday).

### What Happened?

Fast forward to this morning (Wednesday), I woke up and got onto Discord as usual to check if there were any messages for me. To my surprise, @jaynie had actually messaged me a link to her [post](https://steemit.com/steemit/@jaynie/paying-it-forward-and-conquering-fears) and I didn't understand what was it about. When I clicked onto it, I was somewhat confused because she was writing about how her post got *messed up* and some fellow Steemians (jokingly) making fun of her because of that. As I continue reading, it clicked in my mind that the post was describing how she felt about the podcast interview and that she was grateful for it?!

### Why???

According to her [previous post](https://steemit.com/life/@jaynie/opening-the-box-of-fear-and-insecurity) before our interview, @jaynie confessed that she has the fear of speaking in public. Now you might be wondering what does this has to do with our podcast? Well, even though we are communicating online via Discord, the interview is *recorded* and will be published onto the STEEM Blockchain for **everyone** to listen to! I sort of understand why is she nervous about this because I too, am inexperienced in doing such *public things* and I am not confident with myself (but I did it anyway because I always push myself to *not give a fuck*).

It appears to me that after doing this podcast with me (and also listening to herself speaking in the podcast), @jaynie has gotten much better in dealing with her fear of public speaking! What really touched me was this:

> I must just say though,
> that it was PURELY for the seamless
> and completely fluid approach of [@aaronmcheong](https://steemit.com/@aaronmcheong)
> that I was able to feel comfortable in that space...

Personally, I felt that she was able to conquer her fear because she had 'guts' to. A lot of people cower in the face of fear, but she did the right thing by fighting it head on. However, it never occurred to me that I played a part in helping her during that process.

**To clarify, I am not trying to pat myself in the ass for doing a great work, or bask myself in the compliments of others.** I for one, understands how strict I am to myself because I want to push myself to become greater at an even faster pace. *But sometimes, you just get so exhausted of how much you're pushing yourself and a genuine compliment at times (like this) can be pivotal.* @jaynie's compliment really helped to boost my confidence, and I feel 'empowered' to do better for my podcast series!

### Reflection

Honestly, I'm just as grateful as you are for the podcast @jaynie. You have now learnt to conquer your fear of public speaking, while I have also earned a genuine compliment to produce better podcasts. Thank you so much!!! This goes without saying, I'm very grateful for my followers who have been supportive all along - with your upvotes, comments, and resteems. I really enjoy myself in the midst of producing these content, and I genuinely hope that you can enjoy them too.

Please follow @jaynie if you haven't, and [tune in](https://dsound.audio/#/@aaronmcheong/steemon-2-jaynie-on-bloggers-secrets-to-success-in-steemit--building-a-proper-steemit-community) to our podcast as she shares with you the **secret to successful blogging** in this platform!!!

Sincerely,
***M***
