_____  _____ #### Project repository https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-android A few days ago, I introduced the delta chat messaging application [here](Delta Chat: A decentralized messaging client with no server), I made a succinct review on the main features which were * New chat, * QR invite code, * Contact request, * Settings. Today, I’d love to write on other features of the delta chat messaging application. #### Introducing Delta Chat messaging client The Delta Chat messaging client is a decentralized application developed by [Marcel Bokhorst](https://github.com/M66B). Its purpose is to aid users in sending messages, photos, videos, contacts, and audio files as emails. It works more like Whatsapp, telegram and Facebook messenger. Without the delta chat application installed on your recipient’s mobile device, he or she can gain access to read the message. My most adored feature on the delta chat messaging application is its ability to encrypt messages automatically. A platform is secured when it supports end-to-end encryption. I don't think i can send a confidential document on a platform without encryption. The developer of the delta chat application [Marcel Bokhorst](https://github.com/M66B) developed the application with the best interest of users at heart. He made the delta chat messaging application available for [IOS](https://testflight.apple.com/join/WVoYFOZe), [Android](https://f-droid.org/app/com.b44t.messenger), and [desktop](https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-desktop/releases). #### Notification ____  ____ The Notification feature works more like the ones in other messaging applications. The notification feature is designed to aid users in adjusting how they get notified on a new message. Within the notification feature, there are other options such as * Sound, * Vibrate, * LED color, * LED blink pattern, * In-chat sound, * Repeat Alert, * Show, * Priority. ______  _____ #### Sound The only option I used within the notification feature was the sound option. I used it immediately after I installed the delta chat messaging application. I didn't like the default tone which came with the application, so I had to change it. The sound feature gives you access to different ringtones. #### Vibrate I would have toggled on the **vibrate option** if the developers didn't do so by default, but since they did, there was no need to change it. I really appreciate the fact that the developers toggled on the vibrate option by default. Without the vibrate option, it will be difficult to know when a message has arrived. #### Show The show option when clicked displays three options. ____  ____ * Name and message, * Name only, * No name or message. After installing the delta chat messaging application, I didn't bother changing the default option because it was set to ** Name and message**. I prefer to see the names and message than seeing just the name or message. #### LED color and LED pattern The LED color and LED pattern is one feature which ill never use due to the fact that the developers if my mobile didn't make provisions for it. My mobile device does not have the capacity to display a LED light let alone a LED light pattern. #### Apperance The appearance feature on the delta chat messaging application has three features * Theme. * Background, * Language. #### Theme _____  _____ The appearance of an application matters a lot to me because I don't like static applications. I'm a bit disappointed in the appearance aspect of the delta chat application. I anticipated more themes within the theme option. Having just two themes to pick from is not enough. I hope the developers will improve in this aspect. _____  _____ #### Background ___  ____ The background feature is more like the on telegram and WhatsApp. You get to enhance the background of your chat according to your taste. From day one, there was no need to change the background of the delta chat application. I liked how its interface was so I used it that way. #### Language ____  ____ The language feature on the delta chat application is a blessing to its users and a great plus to the platform itself. Some of the delta chat messaging application users are from different countries, and I believe understanding the application would have been difficult. There's no need to change the default language which is English on the delta chat messaging application. I understand English vividly, and I'm conversant with it. #### Chat and media Chat and media is a good feature on the delta chat messaging application. Within the chat and media feature, you'll get access to * Message font size, * Use system emoji, * Enter key sends. #### Message font size ______  ____ The Message font size feature is a simple tool for increasing or reducing the font sizes of messages. The font size of messages used by default is good for me. Therefore, it will be worthless to change it. #### Use system emoji ____  ____ If you wish to use the system emoji which comes with your mobile device or another application, the **use system emoji** feature is the tool to go for. When the **use system emoji** feature it is toggled on, you'll be able to use your mobile device emojis. But If it is toggled off, then you'll be using the delta chat application’s emoji. #### Enter key sends. _____  _____ Enter key is a feature which enables users to send messages within the delta chat application by pressing the center key. I don't use this feature. The reason is that I might mistakenly click on the enter button while trying to click on the alphabet **M**. #### Conclusion The delta chat application deserves all the applause because It is an application that offers an alternative for sending messages as emails. If you're having difficulties sending emails, give the delta chat application a whirl, and you'll be amazed by its awesomeness. #### Resources Information provided in this article was written by me.
