I wasn't acquainted with a polling knowledge at that time, let alone running it on a blog. So, I had to refer him to my colleague. My colleague knew how to run a poll, so, he used [SurveyMonkey](https://itunes.apple.com/ng/app/surveymonkey/id723867634?mt=8) to get the job done. A few months ago, I learned of a blockchain platform called Dpoll. After reading through its review, I was intrigued. Therefore, I proceeded to its website. #### What is the Dpoll platform? ___  ___ The Dpoll is a decentralized platform built on the steem blockchain. It has a simplified interface, and It is developed and managed by a steem witness @emrebeyler. The aim of the Dpoll is to provide a means where users can learn about the preference and opinion of other users on a topic or a question. The idea behind the Dpoll platform is unique. We all know that human beings are subjective to their opinions. Therefore, the Dpoll platform is a good start in learning and understanding their point of views based on a subject. The source code for the Dpoll platform is available within its [GitHub account](https://github.com/emre/dpoll.xyz). Therefore, feel free to contribute to the growth of the project. #### How I got started with the Dpoll platform: Using the Dpoll platform for the first time was easy. I didn't need any tutorial or what so ever. After visiting the Dpoll platform for the first time, the main page was filled with polls posted by different users. Some were promoted polls, while some weren't. It was more like my feeds displayed within the steemit.com, or busy.org’s platform. I read some of the polls, and I saw some interesting answers. ____  _____ I scrolled down the main page to check for other features, and I found three. * General stats, * Top dpollers, * Top voters. _____  ___ The general stats feature had the number of polls, votes, and users within the Dpoll platform, the top dpollers had the names of the top users, and the number of polls they have authored, and the top voters feature had the names and the number of vote cast per user. The next thing I did; was to log in. Since the Dpoll platform is based on the steem blockchain, I used my blockchain details with the help of steemconnect.com to gain access to the platform. Within the Dpoll platform’s main page, I saw a three line tab at the top right corner. I clicked on it, and five different features were displayed. * My account tab feature, * Create poll feature, * Promoted feature, * Trending feature, * New feature. _____  ____ #### My account tab feature: ___  ____ When I clicked on my account tab feature, a tab to log out, and a tab to access my profile was displayed. I knew what the tab to log out was meant for, so I didn't bother clicking on it. Rather, I clicked on my profile tab. Within my profile tab, I saw the number of polls I have authored, and the number of my vote cast. Though there is a link that leads back to my steem blockchain account profile, I was hoping to access it within the Dpoll platform. I hope in subsequent updates, the Dpoll platform will have its own profile feature. #### Create poll feature The Create poll feature within the Dpoll platform has an interface that is more like the ones on other steem blockchain platforms. When I clicked on it, I saw a text field to write my question, a text field to describe my poll, a text field to write answers, a text field for tags, a tab to choose when the poll should expire, a tab to alternate between different reward parameters and a radio button to choose if you wish for your audience to have an option to select multiple answers. I was a bit curious about how the post will be displayed so, I authored one. Within the text field for questions; I wrote my poll question, within the text field for poll’s description; I wrote what my poll was all about, and within the text field for answers; I noticed an option to add more choices, and I did. I wrote my answers, and I moved on to the next tab. I added my tags which were five within the tags field, and I proceeded to choose when my poll would expire. I was disappointed when I saw that the expire feature had only two parameters. One week, and one month. I was hoping I'll see more. My rewards are always set to fifty-fifty, so I didn't bother changing it within the reward tab. Within the feature to allow multiple selections, I didn't click on it. I believe for a poll to be accurate, a user should only be allowed one answer per poll. #### Promoted feature, Trending feature, and New feature. I will not be reviewing these features separately or succinctly, because from their title, you've already known what they are meant for. The promoted feature is a tab which displays all the promoted polls, the trending feature is a tab which displays all the trending polls, and the new feature is the tab which displays the newly polls authored. #### Conclusion: The Dpoll platform is the best polling platform I have ever used. It has nifty features with an interface that is simplified, and user-friendly.
