I get very jealous when I see people who love music, people who can’t go days without music and those who even live for the rhythm. I’m the exact opposite. I always say I’m a music person it always feels like I’m trying to deceive myself because I get tired of listening to music so easily. Most times, I only remember I can actually listen to music when I hear someone around me listening to music. And thinking about it, I can attribute it to one thing: my ears.

When I was a kid, I had a lot of issues with my ears and I was on medication for a long time before being cleared to use ear piece or put things in my ears. Oh don’t worry about me, I’m okay now. So for a long time, I never really enjoyed music. At a point, I was cleared to use headphones but they never made me feel any music I listened to because certain songs are better enjoyed with ear piece.

And maybe that’s why I’m not really a music person but I still listen to certain songs when I remember they exist. I am mostly a loud speaker person so you will only catch me listening to music at home and never in public. Sometimes when I want to risk it, I try my headphones. But then, most times, you’ll see me using my Bluetooth speaker for the obvious reasons. 

I’m sure you’re wondering what I do when I want to listen to music so bad in public or you’re even wondering what I do when I’m traveling on a long journey. Well, this might sound weird but when I want to listen to music in public and I don’t have my headphones, I just sing it in my head. I know, I know. That’s why I said it might sound weird. 

 I get shocked when I see people in public playing music so loud. Why are you disturbing the peace of others? What if they aren’t a fan of that genre? But I guess that’s a story for another day so let’s go back to what I was saying. For traveling, I don’t even bother to listen to anything. The moment I feel the vehicle has moved, I just rush into slumberland for hours so no music needed.

“Okay so are you saying you never use earpiece or AirPods?” Oh I do but just for calls, never for music and I don’t even remember the last time I did that. So for now, it’s me, my headphones and Bluetooth speakers against the world.
