For the past month or so I've been walking past this machine on route through the train station.  > The cash in this machine is free from Coronavirus and has been quarantined for 72 hours. Good to know, except for the fact I can't actually remember the last time I paid in cash. My rent, bills, and groceries are all paid by card, and last week I gave my last pound away to a homeless guy who was sitting on the pavement not too far away from that machine. The cash in the machine might be Coronavirus free, but holding cash hasn't seemed like the best bet for a while now. Housing, stocks, crypto, gold, paintings, etc, have seemingly done much better over the past 10 years? I do have a little saved though, and last month the interest payment was something like .00001%..... Voting content on Hive and holding Tezos on Coinbase is far more lucrative. It certainly doesn't feel like cash is safest, and in the UK, there are [some retailers](https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-8686113/The-shops-dont-want-money-try-pay-cash.html) who aren't excepting it at present. I assume it's not the case worldwide, but it does seems like cash is on the way out. When did you last pay with notes and/or change, and what did you buy?
