It's a tough sport at the start while you learn all the shot types and can be expensive too when you inevitably lose a tonne of balls!

If you get to the point where you can play once or twice a week, the ball striking improves and so does the scoring.

I love football as well, but golf is now my favourite sport to play. Regarding getting picked it varies slightly between the two teams. For Europe its the top 9 players + 3 Captain's picks - those players can be whoever the Captain wants to pick. For the USA team it's the top 6 + 6 Captain's picks.

So Stricker could have picked Tiger, if he was fit and playing well. Neither is true at this time however as Tiger was injured in a car accident back in February.
