GearEye has built an RFID based gear management system to minimize loss of equipment and accessories. In essence, it inventorizes a collection of gear - equipment in a camera bag, a variety of gear carried in a [backpack](https://steemhunt.com/author/@acdevan/numi-the-solar-panel-embedded-smart-travel-backpack), tools in a toolbox - all done quickly and easily with a smartphone app. No manual data entry required; nor manual equipment sighting after use!

The GearEye use guide:
* Stick the long lasting and durable RFID tags (comes in various sizes) onto each piece of equipment / accessory
* Scan the tags with your smartphone to create your equipment inventory lists in your phone's memory
* Place the GearEye close to or in the box, bag or carrier
* Select the function Headcount to check if all the gear is in place - misplaced items are highlighted
* The Locate function will help you discover your misplaced device

It's a great utility that has been designed well. Simple to setup and use. It promises to reduce the fear of misplacing multiple, small and potentially difficult-to-replace devices - especially when you are out in the field.
