2 Timothy 3:1-5: Reminder Of The Perilous Times.
# 2 Timothy 3:1-5

PERILOUS TIMES; time of danger.
This serves as a wonderful reminder to every Christian and Non-Christian around the globe of the important letter Paul wrote to his disciple Timothy, during his second imprisonment in Rome.

It is of no doubts that **all** the characteristics of this period Apostle Paul listed in the second letter are being manifested. Look around you and try to relate what are being wrote to the happenings around you. Certainly, it is crystal clear all these are happening except for those with myopic eyes would not see.

Possibly if you have forgotten the content of this letter or you are not even acquainted with it;This might be a great opportunity for you to get acquainted with it.

## Second Timothy 3 vs 1 says;
>But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.

The question now is; how would it be worst that Paul listed 18 features of the perilous times to come in the last days? These characteristics are listed in 2nd Timothy 3...

* ## In those times people will love only themselves

Being the lover of one self has been the mental, emotional, and behavioral characteristics of people and this has contributed so much to the calamities and miseries happening around us. Most times I do wonder why it is so much difficult to love one another. If we love one another without so much self-love; there won't be killing of others, planning to harm them or any evil thing against one another.

One more thing is that self-love or much regard for oneself leads to self-justification. Justifying yourself from all wrongs makes you feel okay and drives you from seeking the saviour. Self-justification makes us satisfy our what our body needs and not what God wants.
## Romans 12 vs 3
>God has given me a special gift. That is why I have something to say to every person among you. Don't think that you are better than you really are. Decide what you are by the kind of faith God has given you.

* ## People will be Lovers of money
Just as the love of one self leads to self-justification. In the same way, the love of money leads to self-provision. Being able to acquire whatever you want is always your thought forgetting the fact that there are some things money would never and will never afford. Money will never buy you salvation as cheap and free it is.
In first Timothy 6 vs 10, Paul gave a warning to Timothy. He says;
>For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

* ## They will be boastful and proud
The love of one-self is to self justification;
The love of money is to self-provision.
With these two characters in hand, it is undoubtful that you will never be boastful and proud of your accomplishments. Trying to make yourself known to the world which ultimately leads to self-promotion.
People do say;
>The loudest noise is made by an empty barrel.

* ## People will be haters of God
They are called blasphemers. Come to think of it; having possessed self-justification, self-provision and self-promotion, what else do you want? Obviously no one should have authority on you and ultimately become hater of God. Blasphemers are seen as objects of ridicule to the world. The act of blaspheming is regarded as abomination in the holy bible and deserves a Capital Punishment.

* ## Disobedients to parents
Parents serve as one form of authority. But in the society today, young people find it very difficult to yield to their parents' command. Rather, they prefer to act on their own will without the control of any single person. Now, when such person grows to a certain point in life, probably possessing all the listed characteristics above, there won't be any regards anyone old enough to be their parents.
### Proverb 6 vs 20
>My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother.

* ## "they become unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving"
These people become unthankful either to God or Man. No matter how small or big what you have done to please them is, they will never appreciate it. Instead of being appreciated, you will rather be treated with disdain.
Despite the fact that God has been able to bless them with so much things, they feel it is nothing.
They become unholy doing things of life and derive its pleasure as well.
They are unloving and unforgiving. If they have love, they will be able to forgive.

* ## …slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good
All these characters they possess.

* ## They become traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.
They have no true relationship with God and even man....Stay away from them!!!!
