One thing I've been meaning to talk about POSH and an idea that kind of got tossed aside due to Twitter's API limitations (which seem to just get worse and pushing 3rd party apps away more and more), is how powerful it can be to make our voice more heard on Twitter.

If it wasn't for other hiver's I wouldn't have found out about it (I don't scroll Twitter much/often) and part of it, without POSH, there may have been some hiver's who may not even be active on Twitter at all. While I know that many do it "altruistically" in a way, where they like spending their time discussing and debating Hive on #web2, I think it helps to give people that extra push with incentives to at least try it out, build a little following and attempt to drive traffic to our front-ends through Hive post shares. That is only the tip of the iceberg, though.

Some people say that POSH is only encouraging others to echo-chamber, where Hiver's follow Hiver's and some people's Twitter followers are mainly Hiver's which results in no value add to the traffic incentives we encourage and attempt to grow. Be it as it may, it's not all that bad, while there are some "bad" parts about this too, i.e. those who just focus on the posh/hive earnings from POSH and only place likes and retweets on a circle of people who also focus on mostly the earning aspect, those eventually get cut off and lose long term through our ban list. The important part there is transparency and that's why the daily posts mention each and every tweet that's earning some Hive and one of the rising reasons that a lot of those rewards go to @null is not just cause those users aren't registered but some may even have gotten banned for some of those reasons mentioned above.

POSH strives for genuine engagement, not spammy/bot like behavior and we're going to be strict about that because POSH is made possibly by the community and for the community and large parts of its funding comes from delegator curation rewards and also post rewards both which come from the reward pool, which means that any behavior we don't tolerate on Hive should also not be tolerated on Twitter - at least on the tweets where they attempt to earn Hive/POSH from which is restricted to those with Hive links and a #hive tag that makes them eligible. If they're banned they can still keep their verified Twitter icon, it's just that they'll lose the possibility to earn Hive from the poshtoken comments or POSH from the tweets. I think this is a good way to go about it and it somewhat also resembles downvotes on Hive, people can still post and store their data immutably but if they've been up to some shady things they're not expected to earn post rewards from it.

Some time ago we discussed the rewarding of #hive mentions by themselves, i.e. without the links directly and including replies to tweets. This would've been a great idea but unfortunately the API is quite restricted and this action would've easily gotten us over the limits jeopardizing the main POSH activity from working properly.

The point is though that just because people aren't rewarded posh for that activity, they all know that talking Hive and bringing it up helps hive, especially if done in relatable tweets. While we may bring some more manual reward distributions to those doing this, for now we'll just focus on bringing more value to POSH in usecases, sinks, buybacks, etc. 

If we look back at a few years ago there was barely any Hive activity on Twitter, while some OG's like @theycallmedan and others have been going at it pre-posh, I think it's safe to say that POSH has encouraged a lot more people to join in and check what it's about. Maybe posh was an early indicator and then they realize how valuable it is to mention Hive out there but I'm glad to see the growth of active users on there and any and all actions, whether in likes, retweets or shares, effectively increasing the range of our awareness through Twitter's algo's. 

I'll be posting in the near future as well about Reddit, but that one is quite a different beast. If some of you guys here are annoyed some times that some communities mute your post cause you didn't follow some of their very few community rules, you're going to absolutely despise reddit's subreddits and the amount of rules and reasons for them to mute your submissions. Even though the big subreddits are generally quite anti-links (taking people outside of reddit, some times not even allowing submitters to source) there's still quite a lot of smaller subreddits and growing in #web3 and things we're interested in that I'd like to make a compilation of after hours of testing and checking how they behave. I'm sure we can make Reddit POSH just as valuable as Twitter one has become and keep growing and evolving the project from here.
