Some updates on projects I'm working on since I've been back
Hey everyone, I know, I know, I haven't been posting more frequently again. I also want to apologize to @erikah cause I accepted her challenge to walk more often but haven't really been doing that so I didn't dare posting an update on it, maybe soon. :p

Either way, there was a lot to catch up on what's happening in the hive ecosystem so it took some time of reading, reading, reading and also a lot of curation like usual. Have kind of also been enjoying checking out new accounts making their first post and giving them a follow if they seemed interesting, we made our @lovesniper bot public in [our Discord](https://discord.gg/Qsgp44da) recently so anyone can go check out when a hive account makes its first post to give them a warm welcome and suggest some communities they may be interested in depending on what they shared about themselves, it's kind of fun some times and even more fun seeing how many new people keep joining on a daily basis! @ocdb is still creating accounts for @hiveonboard which means people are able to generate a new account for free using sms verification to avoid abuse.

Okay so apparently I already started talking about some things we've been doing lately but I'll try be a bit more precise from now on. Will be discussing some things we've added or changed in ocd and posh, some things we plan on doing in the near future and maybe also mention some things we've done that I haven't been able to mention yet. Here we go.

For poshtoken, we recently added a change where the comments will also tag and mention who the rewards go to so the authors have a more direct contact with the sharer rather than having to figure out based on their twitter username who they have to thank for for sharing their post and who they can reward for doing so with an upvote on the @poshtoken comment. The comments don't take a fee, they use @reward.app to liquidate the rewards to be sent to the sharer at payout.

Another change we added recently is that if the sharer and upvoter are the same account, i.e. if their hive username and twitter username are linked on hiveposh.com to each other, the rewards won't go to the sharer but rather be sent to @hive.fund, a.k.a. Hive's DHF. While we understand people want to reward themselves for sharing their posts on #web2 twitter, we feel that they should aim at earning POSH and growing their followers and following there rather than selfvoting on Hive. More likes, retweets may mean more outreach to people who aren't aware of Hive yet and may finally dip their feet after checking out your post so this is probably for the best but let us know what you think about it in the comments!

Another change we are adding come Monday is that the daily posts, one which shows delegators to @poshtoken and how much of the 20% of daily POSH issuance they are earning, will be including new registrations. There's been quite some confusion lately about accounts not being sure if they are registered or not even though it shows their accounts linked on the website but they haven't been sure since poshtoken has a bit of a delay when it links your tweets to you for the daily announcement of token distribution to sharers, this might make it easier to confirm that you are successfully registered with a tag and at the same time it will give us a better idea of how many are registering on a daily basis and to encourage people to remind those who aren't registered yet that they are missing out on tokens cause they are successfully POSHing on Twitter but haven't linked their accounts yet. So far this has meant that a big part of the daily distribution of tokens has been going to @null, effectively burning from supply.

Last but not least, our dev is giving the Twitter API a proper go to check what that annoying glitch is that seems to randomly not count certain twitter accounts eligible POSH tweets for no apparent reason. It's been kind of annoying to say the least, especially when no errors are appearing or any indication of what could be wrong making it a hinderance for certain accounts, so hopefully we can get to the bottom of it and get that fixed. I know some people have even created new twitter accounts just to get it to work which is not something we'd want them to do.

Some final words on @poshtoken, as you can see we've been upvoting the daily posts a bit extra during this time, part of the reason has been the lower price and part has been the increased HBD interest we've wanted to take advantage of. Endgame is of course to incentivize more and more people to share their #web3 posts onto #web2 so we can get more people to join our ecosystem. That's why poshtoken had one of the fairest airdrops of any tokens around where only those sharing had been earning points for over a year and everything since has remained community funded where the funds it generates are only used for the POSH ecosystem which has mainly been to pay for a couple of developers and to buy back posh from the market for some future plans. That's why we've felt it to be okay to vote up automated posts which is something we would usually be very against if the rewards are going to a single entity or for a for profit project as it doesn't take much effort to post them but the thought behind it here is to make sure the token holds some value for those wanting to convert their earned POSH back into Hive.

This also gets me to another point which is of course, abuse. We've been keeping a close eye at those earning POSH daily, we want to let everyone know that receiving likes and retweets unfairly, much like on Hive, will get you banned from earning future POSH tokens. We've already had to do this with certain users creating twitter alt accounts, believe it or not, to constantly have the same likes and retweets from the same accounts on their tweets just to earn more POSH. Something similar has also been some accounts making use of tip bots on Twitter which automatically gets them a lot of likes, retweets and comments from bot accounts wanting to grab 1 shiba or something equally as dumb. This goes against genuine engagement we strive for our POSHers to receive to be able to earn POSH and after a warning we won't hesitate to remove your ability from earning tokens as mentioned above it is a community funded project which mainly derives value from the reward pool and delegators thus cheating on Twitter means you are at the same time cheating the reward pool on Hive.

Last but not least, we've been in talks with @hivecreators to redesign our website and leave some spots open for some future additions we'd like to have there.

One of them allowing Twitter accounts to generate a Hive account through Twitter authentication with a manual verification to receive an account after overviewing their twitter account and activity. This would mean that people who want to earn POSH wouldn't even need to know that much about Hive other than signing up and earning tokens on hive-engine.com, maybe influencers or people with a bigger audience who like reading Hive posts and want to share them to their followers, which is another reason we could use all rewards we can get to get the price of POSH higher). The other being a page for our POSH PETS NFT that has been taking a long time to find the right people to turn it into reality but I hope that it will happen soon as the art from @astrocreator is amazing and I can't wait to own one of my own and earn some of those daily POSH rewards from tokens that @poshtoken has bought up from the market. With @peakd's verified profile pic NFT sticker this will be great to use and change from my Mew after such a long time. :) Hope you are just as excited as I am about the NFTs!

OCD

For OCD there have been some slight changes to how things work and some further plans on how to incentivize our onboarding program more.

For those wondering, we've had some bots doing some great work in our discord to make the lives of our curators and other community leaders and curators easier. One of them being an anti-abuse bot that @adamada has helped install which helps our curators make sure the users they're about to nominate for curation haven't been up to no good in their Hive history. Another bot created by @lemony-cricket has been to make sure we aren't rewarding certain authors too often as distribution is one of our main focuses.

The main change on the latter bot has been for the onboarding program, after much discussion we felt that giving new users that are directly onboarded by other Hivers in our program too many upvotes for too long wouldn't be as fair towards others. Thus we changed the way it works with the bot reminding us on the rules. For example if I onboard a content creator, after a month of his first post, the user cannot be nominated more than twice per week for curation. After another month down to once per week and after 6 months the user should've merged into the community well enough to not need the special onboarder curation anymore but rely on community leaders and curators to nominate them for curation through us, or receive curation from other accounts on Hive, of course.

The point with this change is that onboarders not only guide the users early on with the basics but also make sure that they take time to get to know our many vibrant niche communities so they can find the people who also post and share the same interests to make retention better for them, not just for posting but engaging as well so everyone thrives all around.

For this, we also want to increase the incentives for onboarders to do a good job at making sure they don't forget about their onboarded users but take good care of them. On top of the "one time" post rewards they get on the @ocdb compilation posts for onboarding someone and the non-mandatory beneficiary rewards they may get by referring them to hive through @hiveonboard and @ocd, we would also like to start a new reward mechanism that hands them a delegation per onboarder who is still active the past month. As you can see from @ocdb's statistics created by @ybanezkim26 some onboarders are doing really great:

<center>
![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/acidyo/23t797vNdC76EqVuWze2RvL8xD8fpWix8uX3MKxGxXXt2oUzGjKwgEtuCsLBMQ6riEHzM.png)</center>

and we want to reward those doing a good job more and at the same time incentivize those who may be slacking or stop onboarding after a while with some extra stake to keep inviting more users. We're still considering the amounts but receiving extra delegations per active user you've onboarded and keeping it as long as you are part of the program could be a nice addition for those wanting to grow their stake on Hive and make it a bigger focus to onboard and even more importantly, make sure the new users stay active enough to learn more about Hive and do well here as we all know many can as long as they show determination and willpower.

For community leaders and curators we are still considering how else we can further incentivize them to evolve and improve their community activity and curation.

That's it for now, though as this post already got longer than I initially anticipated.

Hopefully a bit shorter post next time, thanks for reading and make sure to drop by our Discord now and then, we only announce important things so don't be too scared that we'll ping your ears off daily. ;)

Since I posted for once and don't really shill my things too often, here's some shilling for whoever is listening.

Delegating to @poshtoken gets you some daily POSH rewards, currently, it's mainly @theycallmedan earning a big pie so go give him some competition. The stake is used on autovoting posts of those who have earned POSH, write good posts and share them properly on Twitter! PS! You can also give @poshtoken some beneficiaries now and then to help it grow (like I'm doing with this post when posting in the OCD community), you can't earn any POSH that way but if you are a well-rewarded author who wants to shitpost now and then it's a good destination and the rewards will be used well!

Delegating to @ocdb allows us to continue doing what we're doing with curation, empowering niche communities all over hive and distributing stake as wide as possible. We will shortly have some monthly stats post coming up so you can more concretely see our efforts. We also take one of the lowest fees around and you can get your share in curation rewards in liquid Hive by delegating. Though keep in mind that rewards start coming in first after a week and will last a week longer once you undelegate.

Lastly, if you like what we do and aren't voting for our witness, we go by @ocd-witness (shocker).

Thanks!
