Looking the other way at times is an attitude which mistake for pride and too much ego. Even though sometimes its pride, but on the other side it is the best solution for anger.
I found the attitude of *"looking the other way"* as the best remedy for avoiding trouble.
I could recall an incident that happen during my second year in the university.
Myself and two of my friends were just strolling around, trying to cool off with some fresh air. Suddenly a man riding a bike splashed some dirty water on us, immediately the man showed how sorry he was, he even offerred to give us a clothe to clean up the mess. I ignored the man even though very angry, on other side my friend, embarrassed the man and said some harsh word.
Not long after, unknown to us, the man is a soldier, many officers arrived. I was accused of been proud by the officer we had issues with and my friend was accused of been rude and overreacting. He was harrassed by the officers and molested. Even though what was done to him was cruel, still if he had just looked away like i did, the harrassment wouldn't have taken place.
