So some few years ago, I went to Lagos(The city that never sleeps) to visit a close friend of mine and also to get some few things, it wasn't a fun experience as I set out from Benin city 08:00 am in the morning only to arrive at Lagos by 04:00pm many would say that isn't bad, well it was a Friday and if you've ever been to Lagos, fridays are like worse days to be in Lagos due to the traffic situation, but I was excited at first to be in lagos but after being in hold up for over four hours, I became frustrated and tired, on an ideal situation it won't take me up to an hour to get to my friends house but this isn't an ideal situation this is Lagos situation, I got to my friends house at about 01:00 am, at 01:00am traders are still about their business. It all seemed strange to me but that's the way things operate in Lagos.

Well the next day being a Saturday, my friend had to leave the house early at about 05:00 am so as to beat the morning hold up and make it in time for work, so I was alone in the house, exhausted from my travel I slept all through the day and when my friend finally got home it was about 11:00 pm and I swore that day I would never live in Lagos for whatsoever reason. We had a little chat and catch up on old memories before we finally fall asleep.

[Computer Village](https://www.google.com/amp/dailypost.ng/2017/04/26/no-gong-back%25E2%2580%258E-relocation-ikeja-computer-village-lagos-government/amp/)

Sunday is the only good day to move freely in Lagos as many people are indoors relaxing with their families or at church or just somewhere having fun. We set out for the famous computer village hoping to get a new phone and other stuffs, but on getting there most of the shops were closed and so we decided to stroll around, on our way we saw two guys discussing about a phone, it was a bit heated as such it caught our attention, it was as if the price bargained was the issue, anyways we kept moving. Few minutes later the guy with the phone came to us and asked what we were looking for, I told him we wanted to buy a phone, then he showed me his phone and said he had it for sale, the phone looked new and it had all the features I was looking for in a phone. So I asked him how much he was given it out for, he said 8,000 Naira, it looked like a sweet deal, and I calculated if I even bought it that amount I could probably resell for about 15,000 Naira and then I bargained for 4,000 Naira but he refused. So I asked my friend what he thought about it, he agreed it was a good deal and so I offered him 6,000 Naira. He took me to a corner and we did the transaction, I gave him the money and he handed me the phone, on stepping so we can board a bus back he stopped us and said he changed his mind that he can't sell for that amount and gave me my money but before I could say a word we saw three hefty men with tattered clothes popularly referred to as agberos or omonille. They were shouting so you want to buy a stolen phone abi. Quickly without even checking my money, I have the boy his phone and kept my money in my pocket and jumped in a bus with my friend. We were very happy to have left the scene. Reaching to my pocket to pay the conductor I discovered it was all bunch of paper folded together and and one 200 bill was used to wrap it. Then I realized I've been played .

It was an organized scam, from the point where the two guys were debating on the price for the phone down to where the omonile came out, it was all planned.

That day I learnt a lesson that hold so true and my people would say cheapericle dey Porte belle ๐Ÿ˜‚
