Witnesses play an important role in valuing a blockchain. We have some of the best witnesses here on Steem blockchain so it's good to vote for them for their work.

Every single account on Steemit can vote **for a maximum of 30 witnesses**.

But some of the witnesses have been disabled, so your vote is wasted on that disabled account. Like you can see from my screenshot.

In order to take that vote back from the disabled account simply login on your **Active or Owner Key** and remove your vote.
