Our final template photo for the 2022 [LMAC collage contest](https://peakd.com/hive-174695/@lmac/lets-make-a-collage-a-contest-for-all-creatives-on-hive-round-153-148-hive-in-the-prize-pool) was a beautiful winter scene.  @shaka seems to have an inexhaustible supply of amazing photos.  This week I didn't disturb the scene very much.  As soon as I spied the woodpile I though it might be fun to animate. After that, everything strange was possible :) 


The first collage I made is the one I show at the top of this page.  I hand applied the snow on each frame with a *GIMP* splat filter because I didn't know how to use the snow filter. 

I borrowed the bird from @yaziris, and colored in the feathers. The beautiful butterfly is actually a fan that @justclickindiva contributed to the LIL Image Gallery.

 When I finished the first collage, I thought I'd play around some more.  This is when I came up with the more deeply hued scene in the second collage. This time I left out the snow. I borrowed the strange creature running across the foreground from @muelli. Once again, this was available in the LIL Image Gallery.  I added the sun for its head

I finished those collages last night.  Today I got up and decided to play around some more(!).  I borrowed a tiny, adorable fox from @redheadpei and decided to make my purple tree-dwelling character grin.  (The purple creature is an image I contributed to LIL last year)

It has been an amazing year for LMAC. We have new artists creating memorable collages. The [LMAC library](https://www.lmac.gallery/) has grown to hold more than 9500 public domain images.  Any of my readers can borrow from the library and everyone on Hive can contribute. As 2022 draws to a close, I look forward to significant anniversaries in my own Hive experience.  In February it will be five years that I have 'known' many fellow Hiveans. In a few weeks I'll have my fourth anniversary making collages for LMAC (although I don't compete anymore). A few people who started around that time are still here, making collages. @muelli is one of them.

Obviously there is a kind of magic in this community.  It brings people back week after week. @shaka cast the spell a long time ago, but since then it has been nurtured by people who participate.  We are indeed a community.
