There are several reasons why a woman might choose not to bear a child. It could be due to an illness or a genetic condition that prevents her from becoming pregnant. It could be because her partner is unable to have children, and they both opt for surrogacy to become parents. There are also cases where individuals in same-sex relationships choose surrogacy as a means to fulfill their dream of having a child.

This topic may not be among the most controversial, but it has its complexities. One of the main concerns is how much a woman can bond with a child while still carrying it. Imagine the following scenario: you and your partner want to have a child and make all the arrangements with a woman willing to carry the baby. To ensure everything goes smoothly, you formalize a contract. However, on the day of the child's birth, the woman changes her mind and is willing to do whatever it takes to keep custody of the baby she carried. A terrible situation, isn’t it? Indeed, it is a problematic issue and not as uncommon as one might think. I have never personally met anyone who has gone through the surrogacy process, so I don’t have firsthand experience discussing it with those involved. What I believe is that this decision should be carefully thought out and discussed in detail, as there are significant chances that the situation could get out of control.

In Brazil, this type of agreement is permitted, and I sincerely believe it can help many families achieve their dream. On the other hand, I also think about the many children in need of adoption who are simply overlooked... It is a sad reality. However, I do not feel entitled to judge those who choose to have children through surrogacy. People should be free to make their own choices as long as they do not harm anyone. I don’t believe it is an unethical method; rather, it is just different and requires careful planning to ensure that all parties involved are satisfied.

Additionally, there is the issue of cost. Surrogacy can be an extremely expensive process, making it a viable option only for those with significant financial resources. This raises another question: does this practice create inequality in the right to parenthood? After all, those who cannot afford the costs of this procedure are left with limited options, such as adoption or accepting that they will not have biological children.

Another important aspect is the regulation of this process. In Brazil, surrogacy must be altruistic, meaning that the surrogate mother cannot receive payment beyond covering medical expenses and other pregnancy-related necessities. This rule aims to prevent the exploitation of women's bodies and the commercialization of babies. However, some still debate whether this is the most appropriate model.

In the end, surrogacy is a complex issue with various emotional, ethical, and legal implications. It is a solution for many, but it also raises important questions about the limits of individual choice and the well-being of the child involved.

Há diversos motivos pelos quais uma mulher decide não gerar um filho. Pode ser por alguma doença, ou uma questão genética da qual não a permite que engavide. Pode ser porque seu parceiro não pode ter filhos e ambos escolhem o método barriga de aluguel para serem pais, ou ainda tem o caso das pessoas que se relacionam com pessoas do mesmo gênero, e optam pela barriga de aluguel pra realizarem o sonho de terem um filho.

Esse assunto, não é uma das maiores polêmicas que existem, mas tem suas problemáticas, e eu diria que a principal delas, é do quanto uma mulher é capaz de se apegar a seu filho quando ainda está grávida.  Imagine o seguinte cenário: você e seu parceiro querem ter um filho e acertam tudo com uma mulher disposta a gerar o bebê, digamos que para se certificarem que dê tudo certo, vocês façam um contrato, mas ainda assim, no dia que o bebê nasce, a mulher desiste do acordo, e se torna disposta a fazer de tudo para ficar com a guarda da criança que ela gerou. Uma situação terrível não é? De fato, muito problemática e não é tão raro assim de acontecer. Eu nunca conheci ninguém que tenha contratado uma barriga de aluguel, então não tenho a experiência de ter falado com alguém sobre. O que eu penso é que é algo que deve ser pensado e conversado minuciosamente, pois há grandes chances da situação sair do controle. 


No Brasil, é permito fazer esse tipo de acordo, e sinceramente, eu concordo que isso pode realizar o sonho de muitas famílias. Por outro lado, eu penso que há tantas crianças que precisam ser adotadas e são simplesmente ignoradas… É um cenário bem triste. Mas, não sinto que posso julgar quem pensa em ter filhos através de uma barriga de aluguel. As pessoas devem ser livres pra fazer suas escolhas, desde que isso não prejudique ninguém. Até porque não acho que seja um método anti ético, só acho que é diferente, e que precisa ser feito com cuidado pra que todas as partes fiquem satisfeitas.

Além disso, há a questão do custo. A barriga de aluguel pode ser um processo extremamente caro, tornando-se uma opção viável apenas para aqueles com recursos financeiros significativos. Isso levanta outra questão: essa prática gera desigualdade no direito à parentalidade? Afinal, aqueles que não podem arcar com os custos desse procedimento ficam com opções limitadas, como a adoção ou aceitar que não terão filhos biológicos.

Outro aspecto importante é a regulamentação desse processo. No Brasil, a gestação por substituição deve ser altruísta, ou seja, a mulher que gera o bebê não pode receber pagamento além da cobertura das despesas médicas e outras necessidades relacionadas à gravidez. Essa regra tem o objetivo de evitar a exploração do corpo feminino e a comercialização de bebês. No entanto, ainda há debates sobre se esse é o modelo mais adequado.

No fim das contas, a barriga de aluguel é uma questão complexa, com diversas implicações emocionais, éticas e legais. Para muitos, é uma solução, mas também levanta questões importantes sobre os limites da escolha individual e o bem-estar da criança envolvida.
