Mediterrâneo 1, 1990-203 Lisboa* #### Date: *January 8th, 2023* #### Camera *Cellphone Huawei P30 photography* #### Artist: *Bordalo II*      #### deeper Meaning of Bordalo's Art Bordalo II's created again something new and that's why since the end of 2022 Lisbon shines and glows with the very first neon trash animals. Yes, neon trash. Portuguese activist and environmental artist Bordalo II presented his most ambitious solo show from October to December 2022. The now world-renowned trash artist returned to his hometown of Lisbon and took over at the new Edu Hub complex with a "retrospective" of brand new work that combines his well-known Trash Animal sculptures with new approaches and materials never before shown. "EVILUTION" is intended to reflect Bordalo II's evolution as an artist over the past decade. In keeping with the solid environmental message that underlies and is the foundation of his career, each artwork on display was created entirely from discarded trash objects salvaged by the artist and his team. Among the artworks on display is his "Big Trash Animals" series. He still uses a range of urban waste, from metal scraps and plastic toys to hoses, rope and marine debris. These themes run like a thread through the exhibition "EVILUTION" and encourage visitors to think about the impact of humanity on nature and our world, but also about the enormous variety of objects that we waste and throw away every day.
