The state in Germany where I live in is right in the middle of a two-week autumn break. Just a short while ago it was summer break ... !

My daughter brought home quite some homework. Including optional assignments, there are about 10 worksheets for German and mathematics. Every morning after breakfast, we finish one sheet at a time, with the promise of an hour playing Minecraft—a game where she can build worlds with digital Lego-ish bricks—as a reward. I'm not sure if this method is the best, but it works for us. We'll see 😅

While watching my daughter work on her homework, I decided to study German as well. I found some German text books in my computer that I had scanned when I first moved to Austria more than ten years ago.

While it's computer and smartphone learning era, I like to study by writing out letters by hand. Seeing my daughter move her hands to write seems enjoyable, and having recently read some books by written a Japanese calligrapher Takeda Soun might have sparked my interest in writing again.

Next to my daughter, I look forward to improve especially my German grammar.

私が住んでいるドイツの州は、今ちょうど2週間の秋休みの真最中です（ついこの前まで夏休みだったというのに！）。

子供が結構な量の宿題を持って帰ってきました。必須でないものも含めて、ドイツ語と算数のプリントが全部で10枚くらい。そんなに難しいものではなく、毎朝朝ごはんを食べたあとに、今はまりにはまっているデジタルレゴで世界を作っていくマインクラフトというゲーム1時間を報酬に1枚ずつ終わらせています。このやり方がいいのかは謎です 😅

子供の宿題を見ている横で、私もドイツ語の勉強をすることにしました。コンピューターの中に、昔ドイツに移住するときにスキャンしたドイツ語のテキストを見つけたのです。

時代はすっかりコンピューター・スマホ学習ですが、私は手で文字を書いて勉強するのが嫌いではないです。子供が手を動かして文字を書いているのが楽しそうで、あと最近、書道家の武田双雲さんの『[丁寧道](https://amzn.to/3LQtazt)』『[人生、余裕で生きる極意](https://amzn.to/3QhnPnz)』『[イヤな気分を捨てる技術](https://amzn.to/3ZKCfiO)』を読んで、なんだか文字を書きたくなっていたのもあるかもしれません。

子供の横で、このところサボっていたドイツ語の文法の勉強を進めようと思います。
