Today, all of my daughter's tights are in laundry machine except for the one that was waiting for my darning. I mended it in my top speed as always.

Luckily it was daytime and our dining room was bright enough to take how to photos.

What you need is an embroidery needle, durable thread (I use sock yarn leftovers), small hard surface to support the hole to be fixed. I use one of my daughter's building blocks.

By the way, there is a tool called "darning mushrooms". If I didn't have my daughter's building block, I definitely bought one ... They are so cute!

The process is quite simple. First, make vertical (or horizontal) threads shown as ① in the photo below. The threads don't have to be too close to each other. Next, go up and down the vertical threads horizontally shown as ②. Hide the beginning and end of the thread.

The fun part is you can be creative by playing with colors. It's also fun like a puzzle.

The darning-ful tight will be too small for my daughter next season. So it will be the final darning for this one. You did great job to keep my daughter warm, the good old tight! The darning represents your hard work 👍

今日は子供のタイツが全部洗濯中、穴直し待ちの一足以外・・・という状況だったので、直しました。青い部分が今日直したところです。

ちょうど部屋が明るかったので、ダーニングの道具とプロセスを写真で撮りました。基本は縦糸を作って、横糸を絡ませていきます。慣れてくると四角くない形でも自由自在に直せるようになります。色で遊ぶのも楽しいです。

それにしてもこのタイツ、親指周りがダーニングだらけ 😅子供の親指が見えているのを見つけては直したっけ。さすがに来シーズンはこのタイツは小さいので、この冬履いて、ありがたく掃除に使ってお別れになりそうです。よくがんばって子供の足を温めてくれました。ダーニングがハードワークを物語っているようでしんみり。
