 Since last Friday, I’m helping my partner’s booth at an art fair. Some of my artworks are there too. I was active in the art field around 10 years ago but it was more like submitting ideas and works to competitions and exhibit my work at related events. So it is my first time to be at an art fair as an exhibitor. I learned a lot such as transportation, how to set up a booth, what kind of work to bring, how to spend few days at a booth and so on. We don’t need frame for all the works. It’s obvious for experienced people but wasn’t for us.  And we need a or some chairs at least. Some booth have a workspace or seat for guests.   What is good is that we have some less pricy products such as my bean necklaces and series of postcards by an Ukrainian artist the gallery hosted. We don’t have many postcards yet but this is a possibility to showcase various postcards in a small space in the future.  My daughter and I spend time by drawing. If we have next time, doing live performance or having a space for mini workshop might be nice.  We also enjoyed seeing around other booths. I see artworks and also learned fashion from gallery people. While I was working around, I was wondering how we buy art. There are nice artworks. I can imagine hanging up some of them in my office. But some kind of trigger to push me buy one is missing. They are expensive for my standard. I know from my own experiences that artists spent time, need ideas, pay for gallery, and also materials cost. It’s not only about the price. I think I need more connection to an artist when I buy an artwork. If I like an artist and artwork, I want to have the work and support the artist. A lot to learn and it is a nice motivation for me to be back to the art field. Have a nice Sunday! <center>~~~</center> 先週の金曜日から、アートフェアでパートナーのブースを手伝っていて、私の作品も置かせてもらっています。  10年ほど前にアートの分野で活動していたことがあるのですが、当時はどちらかというとコンペティションにアイデアや作品を出して、入賞したときに関連イベントに作品を出展したりする感じだったので、アートフェアは初めてです。 作品や物資の運搬、ブースの設営方法、どんな作品を持っていくか、数日間ブースでどう時間を過ごすかなど、多くのことを学びました。 経験者にとっては当たり前のことですが、すべての作品に額縁はいらないんですよね … なるほど。。  あと、椅子は必要です。荷物は手いっぱいで、電車での移動で、主催者から貸してもらえるかなと期待したのが甘かったです。ブースによってはワークスペースがあったり、ゲスト用の席があったり。   うまくいったことといえば、私の豆のネックレスや、ギャラリーが去年ホストしたウクライナのアーティストのポストカード・シリーズなど、手を出しやすい商品が売れたことです。 まだポストカードは少ないですが、周りのブースを見て回って、将来的には小さなスペースで様々なポストカードを展示するにはこうしたらいいのかなどとも。 IMG_6675.jpeg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmZCZ65tTidohemZvnqpbhJmTRBHoxUKzpS2BVFcUCAF4S/IMG_6675.jpeg) どのギャラリーやアーティストも多分四日間のほとんどが待ちの時間です。私は子供と一緒に絵を描いて過ごしています。ライブパフォーマンスやワークショップコーナーを作ったらもっとお客さんにも楽しんでもらえたかななんて、私の中の関西人が考えています😁  他のブースでは、作品のほか、ギャラリストやアーティストのファッションを見るのも楽しいです。縫いたい服が増えました。 そんなこんなしているうちに、「どうやって私たちは作品を買うのだろう？」と考え始めました。展示されている作品のいくつかは好みで、オフィスに飾りたいくらいなというものも。でも、買うには最後の一押しが足りない。 私の今の経済状況からすると、作品は高価です。もちろんアーティストが時間を費やし、アイデアを出して、ギャラリーにお金を払い、材料費もかかることは、私自身の経験から知っています。 値段の他にもハードルがありそうです。私は作品を購入するとき、アーティストとのつながりがもっと必要だと思います。気に入ったアーティストや作品があれば、その作品を手にしたいし、アーティストを応援したい。私自身アーティストとして生きていくには応援してもらえるような何かが必要なのでしょう。 学ぶことは多く、アートの世界に戻るいいモチベーションになっています。 それではみなさん良い日曜日を！
