In a test conducted on the iPhone X, 'Reddit' was left on the browser when the 'smart inverse colors' feature was active and the screen was set to maximum brightness.

Reddit normally has a white background and black text colors, but when Apple's smart inverse colors option is activated, the back side of the screen becomes black and the text becomes white. This is important because black pixels in OLED are necessarily disabled and require much less power. Compared to 'LCD' displays with backlight system which have to light all the pixels including black colors.

After 3 hours of maximum brightness and intelligent inks, the battery of iPhone X dropped from 100% to only 85%.

Later, the team that tested the same test with an iPhone X running in normal mode sees the battery falling from 100% to 28% when the background light is set to maximum.
