I captured two different beetle species in the bushes while walking yesterday afternoon.

The first was a transverse ladybug (*Coccinella transversalis*[](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coccinella_transversalis)), the size of a watermelon seed. In addition to mating, this little beetle likes to hunt aphids. It can sweep hundreds of aphids in a short time.

The other was a jewel beetle (*Agrilus nebulosus*[](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agrilus)) belonging to the Buprestidae family. This is also a small beetle, only the size of a rice grain. The beetle is agile, continuing to crawl non-stop on the weed stems.
