Is There an Email Service Secured on a Blockchain Yet?

Emails are an essential part of everyday life. The ability to send & receive 'letters' instantly is amazing!

It seems an obvious application for blockchain in this climate where nation-states think it's perfectly acceptable to watch our every move, & cyber criminals see the contents of our emails as pots-of-gold.

What's the weakness of emails? Central servers that can be hacked which are owned by service providers that build back-doors for intelligence agencies to snoop at will, or email services owned by companies like Microsoft that are seemingly incapable of protecting our data.

So, encrypted email stored on a blockchain? It doesn't need it's own blockchain, it could simply be an App run over an existing one. It'll be secure, private, encrypted & outside the jurisdiction of any entity that tries to force the contents of your emails to be revealed. Importantly, from a user experience, it should just feel like using another email service like gmail.... no need to download special software from you or the recipient of the email. It could have a pricing model like Whatsapp - a tiny yearly subscription fee. This gets around the dilemma of 'free' services like Gmail that then have to sniff your content so they can send targeted advertising.

Thoughts? Maybe it's been done, maybe it's technically unfeasible, maybe I'm a genius!
