💻 What is a QUANTUM computer? 💻

### Actually have been many great advances in computing, especially in a fairly new and, why not, unknown area. It's about quantum computing. There are many laboratories and research centers dedicated to deepening this innovative computer.💻

### In this type of computer the basic operating unit isn't the bit, is the qubit. Currently the most advanced processor is the 49 qubit processor, which is relatively slow but powerful.
### We know that in current computing it is based on 0 and 1 as voltage values, with which all the algorithms are created that make it possible for us to make a post in Steemit today. However, in quantum computation these values are not fixed, beyond this, they are "anchored" to quantum states (like the spin of an electron), therefore, such a value is defined only and only if there is an observer to measure it. To understand this we can make the analogy of the Schrödinger's cat, but with 0 and 1, unless we do not turn on the CPU we will not know if there is a 0 or a 1, i.e. there will be a “?” (0 and 1 overlap). This difference is of vital importance as it allows us to understand the foundation of this machine, using current physical principles. We can exemplify this by using the sides of a coin:

### Similarly, properties such as overlapping, quantum entanglement, interference, have their applications to this type of computing, making them potentially faster than what we know today. Honestly I would like to do a post explaining a little about the fundamentals of quantum mechanics, because I think it is one of the most exciting topics in modern physics, but also very extensive.

### This processor could compete with today's supercomputers, however, it requires quite extreme conditions to work properly, for example, this processor must work near the absolute 0, at about 20 milikelvin (approximately -273 °C). This is achieved with a complex cooling system that you will see below:

### Unlike a binary computer, a quantum computer operates with 2 states raised to n states at the same time. Thus, problems such as factoring numbers, which in a binary computer can take millions of years to solve, in a quantum computer can take seconds to solve.
