The world burned as the two were fighting.

The winds swept with screams across the mountains and forests.

scorching everything that it touched.

The stormy sky was turning red as the fires lit up the boundaries.

tree by tree, animal by animal, without stopping

what was left of the land was burning. The rivers were dry,

as the rivers' veins were burnt in the fire.

As the wind was carrying the ashes

there was no time to mourn over the lost ones.

Everyone was panicking and running in all directions.

The fires were growing in size and humans were clueless.

The animals were trying to escape which meant the humans were following them.

Sometimes on foot, sometimes on hands and feet.

The humans were just following their instinct,

so many got lost in the process.

Those who were lucky to make it to the mountains did not know what to do next.

The mountains were the only land left untouched by the fire.

Unfortunately there were not enough animals to carry the mountain's load,

somehow humans could not climb those high mountains.

There was no other way out from the vast mountain land.

The mountains were left out of food and water. Slowly the bones of humans and animals were piling up.

It was that winter that there was not any snow.

No one remembers the warm days for years.

No one remembers the day any one told a story.

No one remembers when food was delicious.

Nobody remembers when water was tasty.

No one remembers those days except the lost ones.

As long as there was light, even in small trebles,

those `lost ones' lived in the silence of the world.

From time to time they would try to gather themselves,

then lost ones would fall and the weak ones would be left behind.

The numbers were decreasing but it was very slow.

there were more and more of them who got lost and forgotten.

`Lost ones' that didn't feed themselves well anymore would break into pieces while they were going up the mountains.

During the night the `lost ones' became quiet,

starting to use their last energy to think of tomorrow.

One day a `lost one' woke up and could not move.

It was freezing however the winds were gone.

`Lost one' could hear the birds chirping sound in the early morning

which brought `lost one' a smile.

`Lost one' used whatever it had left to move

and started to walk.

That day `lost one' could not walk for long.

Winter had already started.

`Lost one' saw the burst of flames beyond the mountain.

Finally it was awake.

The nights had become cold and heavy.

`Lost one' could not feel the heat from the fire.

`Lost ones' were looking to the house where they had lived while they were alive to see if their family was there.

The house was gone with nothing standing on it in sight.

`Lost ones' were looking to see if their children were still alive

as the light came up in the sky.

The wells where empty of water and animals too were gone.

The trees were torn off from its roots.

`Lost ones' saw their families or parts of their families.

Some dead, some alive but hurt.

Not many of them looked the same as `lost ones' did remember.

`Lost ones' were looking everywhere for those who would welcome them home.

`Lost ones' saw dried out trees and flat lands in the lands for miles.

And the stories `lost ones' told themselves about the past

had become nothing but blurry memories,

but `lost ones' didn't care as they stayed awake,

watching hand in hand,

those who were once left behind.

When the sun rose the sun now went under the horizon.

`Lost ones' found the hole already covered with snow and ice.

The fire burned the rest of the time.

`Lost ones' knew that this was the end.

They knew there was no hope or repair left.

They knew that only time could bring everything back alive.

All night, night after night, `lost one's slept.

The nights were now cold and long.

`Lost ones' didn't want to stay awake any longer.

The dead who were left behind needed a place to go.

They needed a place to find peace, to die and to mourn.

The grave was deep and careful as `lost ones' wanted to bury them all together.

They died almost in one breath and were now gone.

The bones were frozen, faces were blank.

`Lost ones' couldn't stop the tears from falling.

Their legs were burning.

Shivering and hungry but naked and cold.

They were left without a house, without a home.

They were left with nothing and no one.

Only the wind carried the few ashes left of them.

The fire burned until it was more than light.

It burned all night long

Whenever 'lost one's wanted to sleep, the birds were still calling.
