# My Little Secret...About Music Practice!

### It Works When It Works 🎹
When music is a practice it can change your state from having a crap day to doing pretty good. But just like experiencing writer's block, if you've fallen out of daily practice it brings it's own flavour of misery, filled with dread, self-judgement and a sense of impending doom, particularly if you're fortunate *(or unfortunate, depending)* enough to have gigs on the calendar. 

So, I'll come clean with you. I haven't practiced in three weeks. It's not a lazy thing, *this time.* 😆 It's actually that time and energy has been transferred to posting on Hive. Mind, you, this is good news, because I just came off a 16 week writer's block on Hive, LOLOLOLOL!!!!

So what's so bad about the music practice hurdle? Well, it's embarrassing. I run daily online practice rooms. By comparison that's like hearing a preacher cuss! It ain't right (self-judgement, right on cue).

Well, thanks to the creatives and musicians I work with in the live online practice session called Practice Not Perfect (PNP), I made some progress. I admitted my downfall, then they poked fun at me, which I needed. Then, without judgement, they simply challenged me to play for five or ten minutes. That's it. 

It worked! The spell is broken! This is especially good because I have a new ensemble I'm starting and it will be in the full swing of rehearsals in two weeks time.
