The new version, Marketpsych 3.0, has seen "more than 400 news sites and social networks, many of them specific to cryptocurrencies" added to the software feed.Thomson Reuters says that "each site is scanned and scored in real time" to determine "the feelings and issues that move the market."

Austin Burkett, global director of Quant and Feeds at Thomson Reuters, said that "news and social networks are driving the process of investment and risk management more than ever with the continuous increase in passive and quantitative trade," he added. as the financial market increases in complexity, as well as the need to provide our customers not only the relevant data, but also the tools to help them manage and analyze that data. MarketPsych 3.0 helps provide another layer of analysis and added value in the investment process. "

Thomson Reuters offers information on traditional and emerging asset classes, and currently publishes "Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple and Bitcoin Cash prices".

In 2016, Thomson Reuters introduced BlockOne IQ, a tool designed to allow operators to use Reuters market data systems with the aim of analyzing blockchain-based currencies.

The announcement of Marketpsych 3.0 comes a week after Fundstrat executive Tom Lee revealed a new Bitcoin sentiment indicator called "Bitcoin Misery Index". Lee revealed the index during an interview with CNBC, proclaiming that the ratio is currently 18.8, the lowest it has seen since 2011.

Mr. Lee described the index as an opposite indicator, stating that "The last four times this was below 27 there was not a single instance with Bitcoin that did not increase 12 months later."
