Chinese mining equipment manufacturer Canaan Creative recently announced the availability of the ASIC Moose mining rig, developed for bitcoin mining, with capacity of 156 TH / s and conformed by 12 Avalon 841 miners, already wired and integrated. Moose equipment, priced at $ 9,900, is designed to be stackable.

If you take into account that the AvalonMiner 841 costs $ 710, according to the Canaan website , the Moose price of $ 9,900 is only a 16% increase over the price of 12 individual Avalon 841 units. This implies that the difference, $ 1,380, corresponds to the cost of the added components (the PSU and the control module, among others, plus the chassis).

Among the comments in Bitcointalk about this new launch of Canaan, several members of the forum agreed that this equipment is not for use at home, but for small or medium farms. On the other hand, the power supply is of industrial range, both for  the  necessary plugs , and for the range of the required input voltage, which must be between 365V and 418V.

Canaan is ahead of Bitmain in offering these mining equipment , all-in-one type, possibly considering the common practice of medium-scale miners to integrate the individual teams themselves into sets of equipment that share a source of power (PSU) and a control unit. Canaan points out that the connection work between the Avalons 841 is already done at the factory, that the PSU is included and that only the power supply and an Internet connection are required to start the mining of bitcoins .

Canaan is the second manufacturer of mining equipment, behind the Chinese company Bitmain. He increased his income 28 times and his earnings 43 times between 2015 and 2017.
