Long-term project checklist
If you ever want to start a long-term project, here's a checklist that might help you.

**The brand name.** Invest some time in picking the right name because this project might represent you for a lifetime. This is a very important step, that's why many entrepreneurs call their businesses "my baby"

**Be sure.** Long-term projects are exactly that -long-term. So before you commit, you have to be absolutely sure that this is what you want, that this is the right thing, that you're the right person for it. If you're not sure don't start.

**Make it big.** Since this is going to be a lot of work for the next following years, it has to be worth it. Make sure that your project is so big that the daily sweat is going to feel justified.

**It has to be possible.** Although your project should be hard to achieve you still have to see a way for it to become a reality. It's a good idea to sit down and imagine how exactly this would play out -step by step. If you see it happening, great; If you don't, see what's missing.

**Commit in advance.** You need to accept that this might take a few years, commit in advance to the whole thing. Also, make sure to commit and accept all the hardships that you are going to encounter on your way.

**Make it fun.** This is more of a duty than an expectation. It's your responsibility to make your project fun, and the main reason it's because you need to be able to stick to it for a few years and if it's not fun, you are going to quit too soon.

**Reward yourself.** You need to create an incentive structure that rewards your efforts as often as possible. Don't wait for the big success for years, but have a taste of it every day. If you wait for the reward too long the journey is going to become bitter, reward yourself and make it sweet.

**Pace yourself.**This is not a sprint, it's a marathon so make sure you adjust your pace accordingly -otherwise, you are going to exhaust your energy well before the finish line.

**Make you better.** Even if you would never reach to be successful with it, working on this project should make you better. The best projects are those that even if they fail, you win.

**Make it noble.** A big project has to solve a big problem in the world that you care about solving.
