Automating my Weekly Contest. Part I: History
# crypto-hype
A while back I slowly started getting into crypto. Nothing serious, just casual research on how things work in the crypto world. Luckily I quickly came across the #gridcoin project and shortly fell in love with the idea of contributing your unutilized processing power to scientific research, while mining some coins.

# steemit
Some months later I also came across Steemit, which also seemed like a fun idea. Though I realized that I am not much of a high-quality content producer, mainly cause of lack of free time and the laziness. ๐Ÿ˜

# crypto UBI?
Next, I don't remember how, but I discovered @steembasicincome project, which also sparked my curiosity (big fan of Basic Income here). While I still try to wrap my head around how this project works, I think the idea is promising and could grow into a great platform for supporting indie content producers.

# functional FTW
Finally, last year I've decided to teach myself some F#. Being an OO developer for quite some years, I wanted to explore something new and exciting and I heard functional programming magically makes you a better developer. ๐Ÿ˜œ

So to practice my F# muscle I've decided to try to run and automate my Weekly Contest, that at the same time could engage the community and spread the word for #gridcoin and @steembasicincome projects.

Next week I'll talk about how I got started with automating my contest and the challenges I faced.
