Good news for Linux users. To the already good news that AMD has long been trying their graphics cards to have a better performance on Linux distributions that was, AMD has distributed the new drivers AMDGPU-PRO with support for the new RX 480 .

These drivers are a new generation that aims to bridge the gap of performance and support Nvidia gives its cards on Linux. Fresh from the oven version, the 1630, can be installed in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (only the 64-bit version). Also included in the beta version of steamos 2.83, which has also added support for graphics library Vulkan.

These drivers are only compatible with some of the latest AMD GPU, which is limited to R9 285 R9 380 R9 380X, Fury and Fury X, Nano, R9 M395X and RX 480.
