We often talk about diversification in investment portfolios because this way we can minimise the risk ratio as well as this can also bring some better profitability in certain areas. Every smart investor follows this and even I do because we can not predict how things will be in the market. Now I am talking about the diversification in the splinterlands game and here the value is not the concern instead with diversification I am trying to add more powerful cards to my deck that can make my game play better in a modern format.

I have started playing battles in [modern format](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-modern-and-wild-formats) and let me tell you that this is going bad for me because I am losing most of the battles. There are two ways that I can follow in the game as of now- first, I focus on the wild format for some more time so that I buy some nice cards in between for the modern format. Second, I can continue playing in the modern format. Maybe over time, I learn how to play better with average cards. I mean anyone can play with powerful cards in the game but there must be some skilled player who will be able to win multiple battles with average [cards](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-card). I don't know if it is possible or not but I'm just guessing it so I can be right or wrong.

### Pause on SPS for sometime

I have been powering up [SPS](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-splintershards-sps) almost every day and even by from the market to increase the count so that I can grow my overall sps holding faster. I have taken a pause here and planning to keep it on for some time so that the funds I use to buy sps tokens can be used by some monster from the modern format. this is because I want to focus more on modern gameplay now instead of wild as I have seen people earning a great amount of SPS tokens as a reward and I do not want to miss this opportunity. gameplay with the real players will be fun for sure I believe but not as of now since I lose most of the battles and it is not making me feel good, to be honest.

I have paused to buy a token from the market but I still re-invest whatever rewards are generated in the game. Sometimes it is needed to make some changes in the strategy and this is the reason why I have decided that I will not be buying SPS for some time and focusing on some [monsters](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-monster) to improve my gameplay. I'm not going to sell any cards that I have at the moment because maybe for the wild I would need them however I will see if there are some cards that I dont even use in the wild then those can be sold out. If I will do these then the funds will be used to buy cards from the latest editions including the [Chaos Legion edition](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-chaos-legion-edition) or [Rift Watchers](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-riftwatchers-mini-edition).


### More focus on Chaos Legion Cards


As of now, there are three additions that can be used in the modern play including [Untamed](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-untamed-edition), Chaos Legion and Rift Watchers but I am least interested in Untamed because this will not stay for a long time. I mean to say the untamed edition will not be considered for Modern League once we have rebellion. I think this is the update for the game but I'm not so sure however I do not want to take the chance here since it is the time for me to build my deck in a different way and better to invest in something which will last longer. I have already upgraded most of my summoners in Chaos Legion edition so now it will be time for me to upgrade some monsters from the same edition or by if I don't have those nice and powerful cards. I will be exploring Riftwatchers as well to see if I can get some discounted deals on certain cards which can be a good addition to my gaming deck.

currently, my collection power is more than 400 K but that is not the requirement in the game anymore instead holding more SPS is better because this will bring a higher multiplier as per the balance. I have almost 120k SPS as of now and trying to make it 150k soon but it will take some more time because of the change in strategy. 

### Winning Ratio in Modern

Here is the snapshot for some of my latest battles and its really very bad. 😂😂. I know that this needs to be improved and this is what I am trying to do. I won only one battle out of 5 so this way its just 20% whereas anyone can easily manage between 50-60% and even there are [players](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-player-versus-player-pvp) above 80% but I am not expecting that much for now. I am ok if I can make it above 50% and that is what I am trying to achieve as next to do stuff for me here.

Shopping is fun and doing it on splinterlands is even better because I will be getting some value back as I use Monstermarket.io and it pays me back some DEC as part of cashback. Everyone like cashback and even I do and this cashback DEC can be used to buy more cards. Anyways DEC is also good to hold but I would prefer to use that for buying more cards as this is going to be a bonus for me. This time assets diversification will be doe with cards and I will try to add more cards to the latest editions whereas I have more from old editions.
