[Splintershard (SPS)](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-splintershards-sps) has become the key component in the game as one of the most awaited updates has been implemented in the game now which is known as SPS staking multiplier. Now the requirement for the [collection power](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-collection-power-cp) has been removed. It means now we can play in any [league](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-league) provided we have the required rating but rewards will be based on the SPS holding. Here the holding is referred to only if the tokens are deposited in the game account and kept in liquid form will not be counted. I have been accumulating SPS tokens for a long time and whatever I have earned through the reward is also deposited back in the game. This change is not a surprise because we were informed a couple of months back about this upcoming change through the town hall and since then I have increased the amount of accumulation.

I was able to add a good number of [tokens](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token) in the last two months after the announcement but I know that this is not the end and I need to put more effort here to increase the count as much as I can. SPS is the governance coin of the game which means there are some additional benefits provided to the holders and it is one of them which has been now made part of the game.

### SPS Staking Multiplier

Now we have this table for SPS Staking Multiplier and there are different multipliers from 1x to 12X. we can fall into the world depending upon the token holding but the good thing is that it cannot go below One X that means no matter what league you are playing in you will always be getting a reward of 1x but that will not be too high. This way one can earn a reward even I there is no sps holding. we cannot deny the fact that SPS has become more powerful in the game now because everyone who wants to play the battle will be required to hold a certain number of SPS tokens. It is always a requirement to have high-level cards to increase the [winning](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-win-rate-season) ratio as well as now with better rewards the SPS is another requirement.

This can go up 12X on the highest league Champion 3 where the total SPS requirement is 1.2 million. This is such a huge amount but there are people who would be doing it. Now with this, I can say that the path is clear for the long term because going to have 1.2 million SPS will take a long. 


### My SPS Holding

I have been staking SPS since the beginning and even now I follow the same. I have 113K sps staked so based on my holding I can play Gold 2 leagues with the highest multiplier. If I move to [Gold 1 league](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-gold-league) then for the same multiplier I would need 180k SPS approx. There is a big gap from my current balance to the one I want but I will try to bridge this gap as soon as possible. I will see what reward I am going to get this season's end but if its good then certainly a great change. If it goes well which is highly expected then players would try to increase their sps holding. Even if you are a player then you would try to increase your holding as much as possible.

### Accumulation Strategy

There is no change in my accumulation strategy but with this announcement of the multiplier, it seems that it is going to be a long-term journey on the accumulation side. Earlier I wanted to accumulate 100 K SPS in total but later, I increased it further and decided to make it 150 however now it seems that it is going to be an ongoing process. I have no plan to sell off my SPS holding and book profit instead I will try to accumulate the maximum amount as per gold one league which is going to be 180K in total. Although the accumulation will continue and this is one of the milestones that I want to achieve as soon as possible. I must mention here that the team has done good work on creating this multiplier where they are encouraging the players to hold the tokens if they are looking for better rewards in the game. I wanted to upgrade some of my cards in the game but now I will not do unless I achieve the 180K SPS count as soon as possible.

SPS is undervalued at the current price but after this announcement we have seen some positive movement on the pricing which is good for those who are planning to sell but not for the people like me who are trying to buy more. I am planning to invest some additional amount on the sps so that I can reach my goal faster and for that I will see if I can arrange some funds from outside which will help me have more sps in the game. we have also got the market through which we can generate some good rewards in the form of DEC tokens by providing the sps power. we will talk about it in my next post that how it works and how profitable it is going to be if you are not using the SPS power. At the moment I am also not sure whether I'll be using that function or not however I will consider this option by doing some calculations to see if it is good for me or not.
