Decentralisation is a trend that no one can ignore anymore. It is a process that has happened organically, be it in the past or present. In fact, as we are talking, something of decentralisation nature is happening out there. 

 According to the United Nations Development Programme, **decentralization** is 

## more than a process, it is a way of life and a state of mind.

## What should we decentralize next?

[Tim Berners-Lee](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Berners-Lee) , the father of the internet said that [we need to re-decentralise the internet](https://www.ethz.ch/en/news-and-events/eth-news/news/2017/01/we-need-a-decentralisation-of-the-internet.html). He is disappointed that people are no longer spending efforts to develop the internet but publishing websites to communicate with people. He pointed out Facebook as one of the culprits in centralizing people social network in the internet.

Google, the go-to search engine has also pretty much centralized people in searching services. We also have whatsapp mobile chat which also happens to belong facebook. Our way of life in the internet is now centralized by giant internet services! 

These centralised services were intended to serve people needs. But money thrives. Who do not mind more money?

Blockstack and Ethereum are good examples of  building blocks for building decentralised systems. IPFS help to decentralise data.
