Which country's jollof' rice taste better? If you are unaware of this battle grab your popcorn and seat down for I am about to bring to you the most funny yet exciting battle between two great nation. Its quiet amusing that the legendary jollof rice did not originate from Nigeria neither did it originate from Ghana. Jollof rice originated from Senegal and Gambia among the people of Wolof. Little wonder they sound so similar to each other ; Wolof and Jollof. It was a woman who lived near the Senegal river delta that invented this dish when she substituted rice for barley during a barley shortage. This intense war between Nigeria and Ghana have put jollof rice on international menu as it becomes the most popular local dish eaten in the international level. Just two days ago, Ed Sheeran entered the jollof rice war as he made the controversial statement that he chooses Ghana's version of jollof rice over Nigeria's. He said this to a Nigerian singer Yemi Alade backstage at Prince William's earth short price Awards in London. This ofcourse didn't go down well with Yemi Alade. I am optimistic that Ghanians must be jubilating over this recent scenario. Over the years, both countries employ the use of videos, gifs, memes and pictures as weapons to shade each other. Ghanaians said that the grains in Nigeria's jollof rice are too fat and tasteless while Nigerians said that the grains in Ghana's jollof rice are too starchy. In 2016, the owner of facebook was dragged into the debate when he visited Nigeria. Cardi B also testified that Nigeria jollof rice is the best when she took to her Instagram page on friday december 6, 2019. Nigerians have on one time called for the resignation of the country's information minister Lai Mohammed after he accidentally said that Senegal's version of jollof rice was superior in a live interview with CNN. The fear and reverence for Nigeria Jollof is the beginning of wisdom. This dish is the sort after dish in all parties and events thus it was nicknamed partyjollof. The only time both countries set aside their rivalries for a unified stance against a jollof rice recipe made by a British TV chef Jamie Oliver in 2014. **Thanks for reading through ๐** *image of food taken by a friend and I got his permission* *news extracts*
