New uses of deep learning are helping advance medical capabilities. In a recent study, Philips used Intel Xeon Scalable processors and the OpenVINO toolkit to learn about lung segmentation and determine how bones change as patients age. Using artificial intelligence can help radiologists identify issues faster and more accurately, which can translate to better prioritization of cases, better outcomes for more patients and reduced costs for hospitals
At #IntelDCISummit, Navin Shenoy said 90% of the world’s data was generated in the past two years, but only about 1% of it is being utilized. Analysts predict that by 2025, the world will generate 163 zettabytes – 10 times the amount we generate today. Intel’s strategy for the future of data-centric computing includes a combination of technologies working together to help store, move and utilize data faster and more efficiently.
