It will also serve as a showcase for the staff picks and task requests that were made in the current week. If you have any suggestions or things you'd like to see in this post, then please let me know! ## Previous posts * [Week 7](https://steemit.com/@amosbastian/weekly-overview-of-the-development-category-week-7-2019) * [Week 6](https://steemit.com/@amosbastian/weekly-overview-of-the-development-category-week-6-2019) * [Week 5](https://steemit.com/@amosbastian/weekly-overview-of-the-development-category-week-5-2019) * [Week 4](https://steemit.com/@amosbastian/weekly-overview-of-the-development-category-week-4-2019) * [Week 3](https://steemit.com/@amosbastian/weekly-overview-of-the-development-category-week-3-2019) ## Top contribution(s) #### [FPL: Updating tests & Minor fixes](https://steemit.com/fpl/@espoem/fpl-updating-tests-and-minor-fixes) by @espoem >Espoem has taken it upon himself to start improving my own package **fpl**. Despite the fact he has never played the game himself, he has done a tremendous job of implementing & improving unit tests and improving the quality of the code as a whole. It's a great example of writing tests for an asynchronous package (especially the mocking)! #### [Minecolonies & The Crusher](https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@raycoms/minecolonies--the-crusher) by @raycoms >In addition to the changes to the miner and composter Raycoms has also created a worker which allows the colony to produce materials which are difficult to get depending on the location in the world: the crusher. he crusher is able to transform certain vanilla blocks into others - this way he crushes cobblestone to gravel, gravel to sand and sand to clay at the cost of 2:1 each. ## Category summary * There were **17** contributions of which **17** have a chance of being rewarded, or already were rewarded. * The average score was **76.0** with an average reward of **38.4 STU** from Utopian. * The total reward from Utopian for development contributions this week (so far) is **422.4 STU**. * There were a total of **17** unique contributors in the category. Of those 2 were new contributors in the development category (@liuzhixiang, @gregory.latinier). #### Score distribution in the development category

The scores were very top heavy this week, which is great. Everything that has been reviewed received a score of at least 65, which I don't think has happened before - it's great to see the quality going up! #### Number of contributions per weekday

As you can see, Tuesday was the day with the most activity in the development category. Friday had the least activity in the entire week. #### Average score, reward (STU) and time before review (hours) per week

Time before review is the number of hours between the creation of the post and the time it is reviewed by a moderator.
Unfortunately the average score of contributions is down from **76.5** to **76.0** this week. The average reward has gone down from **46.6 STU** to **38.4 STU**. Of course with the average score also going down, this was to be expected, although not to this degree. I'm not exactly sure what would've caused this drop in average reward, but if I would guess, it would be because of the exponential voting we use. Basically, last week we had **4** staff picks, so they all received the maximum reward for the category - with the exponential voting this is significantly more than e.g. a contribution with a score of 90. Finally, the number of hours it takes for us to get to a contribution and review it (on average) has gone down *slightly* from **16.2** hours to **16.0** hours. #### Number of contributions reviewed per week

As you can see, the weekly number of reviews is down from **24** to **17**. Unfortunately, as I had predicted last week, this seems to be following a trend, as the number of contributions over the last two weeks is also down from **58**, in the two weeks prior, to **41**. I'm not really sure why there are so few contributions, especially since the age weighting has finally been added, and so contributions have a higher chance of receiving a reward. ## Contributors #### Number of unique contributors per week

With the number of reviews going down this week it's really cool to see the number of unique contributors has stayed the same (**17**)! #### Most active contributor(s) Well, as there were 17 contributions and 17 unique contributors you can guess who was the most "active" - everyone equally! ## Moderators * @amosbastian reviewed **3** contributions with an average score of **75.8**. * @codingdefined reviewed **1** contribution with an average score of **75.5**. * @emrebeyler reviewed **1** contribution with an average score of **82.0**. * @helo reviewed **9** contributions with an average score of **76.6**. * @justyy reviewed **3** contributions with an average score of **72.5**. Once again Helo is the most active moderator out of us all. Also cool to see such high average scores given by everyone. #### Number of reviews per weekday

As you can see, Tuesday was the day where we reviewed the most contributions in the development category. Sunday was the day where we reviewed the least. #### Number of contributions reviewed per moderator

#### Average score given per moderator

## Task request(s) #### [Task Request: Help Us Design/Re-design The steemgigs.org Landing Page. (Additional Bounty Of 50 STEEM)](https://steemit.com/steemgigs/@surpassinggoogle/task-request-help-us-design-re-design-the-steemgigs-org-landing-page-additional-bounty-of-50-steem) by @surpassinggoogle >Surpassinggoogle is looking for someone who can redesign the SteemGigs landing page for him. It includes a bounty of 50 STEEM as well! **HTML, CSS** --- Also, if you think there is anything that can be worded more clearly, then please let me know!
