Thesis are the best way to spoil summer holidays. Now that the summer is almost over and the winter bells are about to ring I am running a writing marathon to finish my thesis on time. I will take a small break to share the following insights with you.

As I was designing my survey questionnaire some of my friends were discussing about how Facebook has been overloaded with unnecessary content and they are no longer taking Facebook seriously.

I was listening to them when an idea popped up in my mind and I decided to try effectiveness of various social media sources with my survey questions.

So Once my questions were designed I uploaded the link in LinkedIn at first. I waited a couple of days. I had only 8 respondents. I was surprised because out of the 410 connections I was at least expecting 50 responses. I decided to wait further almost 5 days and my count almost remained the same.

I tried with twitter but also no massive response.

Now I shared the questions only in my Facebook profile not in any groups . The response plummeted and grew to around 50 in a short time. I then decided to share the links in various groups of Facebook like Utrecht mama, Utrecht Expats etc.

It was surprising. I almost knew no one in the group but my response plummeted to 100 and a Plus.

My first post in steemit had only 9 visitors. I did not share it in Facebook or any social media. My second posts had around 50 visitors when I shared the link in facebook.

So, here it is Facebook is far from getting over. They are getting stronger and useful day by day. Without Facebook I would have to run around asking people to fill in my questioner.

What I know from my experience Facebook days are greener then it seems. It is a platform to gain quick exposure and gather global audience. It is to the user to harness the power of the Social Media platform by connecting to the right people, right groups, posting meaningful contents.

Remember your profile speaks your personality and it is you who create your own profile. Every content that you share exposes your personality traits , your pictures help people to form opinions about you and your likes displays your likings and choices. Hence, it is ultimately YOU who is helping people to shape perception about you.

So Ladies and gentle men the next time you want to click the like button , or share a content or post pictures , take a pause , and know that as you press the enter thousand eyes will pop up with your permission, ready to make conclusions .

The good thing is you have the power to shape PERCEPTION.

P.S : My steemit friends lets us share our Steem in Facebook and help more people join steemit while we enjoy more visits if lucky enough upvotes and comments too.

I would like to know more opinions about Social Media platforms. Please feel free to share your experience.
