The Need for a Steemit Messenger
**The Steemit UI is remarkably well-designed, and, not being particularly tech-savvy myself, it's been extraordinarily easy to use.** As I've started to educate myself more and more about how blockchains work and really try to figure it out on a more technical level, I've only grown to appreciate the web interface that's been developed more and more. It's simple, clean, and it's constantly being upgraded. With the addition of tabs on profile pages for followers and people accounts are following, it's easier than it has been to keep track of who you want to engage with.

**Same goes for Steemit Chat.** The user interface is slightly cumbersome, especially when it comes to finding channels or starting new ones, but on the whole it's clean, easy to use, and easily accessible. Private messaging is supported and displays as a separate bank of names underneath the channels in your channel list. It's not hard to track, and it supports notifications as well as tracking if you were mentioned in conversation.

**However, what I would like to see is a standalone, dedicated messenger app of some kind.** I hate to cite Facebook, but their messenger is actually a fantastic app from a user perspective. Conversations each have their own windows, they push notifications, and your list of people is easy to search and displays whether a user is online, offline, or away. Something like that would be fantastic to have for Steemit. The reason I made this post to suggest this feature is because I don't have, and likely never will have, the technical skill to produce this app. Food for thought. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated, and if this inspires someone to create an app, kudos to you, sir or ma'am!
