💸The Money Is In The List - Don't Forget About Affiliates!💸

In an earlier post I talked about owning the real estate that your business is housed upon. The platform of your main business should be controlled by YOU.

I have been focused lately on setting up my own platforms for my growing chess business as well learning about email marketing. I already set up a blog and am deciding between mailchimp or aweber to start my list building activities.

The thing that I love about the direction I'm moving in is that I will have 100% control over these platforms. Nobody can pull the rug out from under me so the time invested will never be lost. Either I will make money or I will make a mistake and learn from it to earn money the next time.

With merch by amazon and redbubble, though they are lucrative, I could lose them tommorow through no fault of my own.

Though This May Be True NEVER Forget about Affiliates!

I have done things a little backwards and that's OK! I'm sure many people start with just using affiliate networks. I don't really consider Amazon FBA or MBA a real "business" in that I am just an affiliate to their business. I provide products or other digital designs and we make money together. The relationship is a precarious one and it could end at any time.

Just Keep This In Mind and DO BOTH!

I feel lucky that I am doing both now because I know that if the day should come and I lose an income stream I will have started already building my email lists for my chess channel and other businesses. An end goal for my t-shirt business will be to build a website and brand of my own while using outsourcing print-on-demand platforms.

A lot of work to do but I love every minute of it!
