# <center> English </center>  <div class="text-justify"> This is the second day of the Retro Gaming Blogging Challenge and this second day is about our first videogame ever, which videogame introduced us to the gaming world, as I said earlier, I think this challenge is perfect to remember where we come from, remembering the past is important sometimes and this time I´m glad I can share with all of you which game introduced me to this awesome world. Remember that if you want to take part of the challenge, I invite you to read the post of the user @marcoquin, you´ll find the rules there.</div>  The Nintendo 64 which I owned had so many games to play with, but there was one game that called my attention as a child, this game had a person with a red hat running away from a dinosaur in something like a valley, that´s how the cartridge actually looked like, I knew that sir was named Mario because you could see him everywhere but never in my life I did play a game about him, not in that time so I was pretty curious, this game was called ¨Super Mario 64¨ and it was the first cartridge I put in the console. I didn´t know what to expect, I barely knew some concepts of 2D Mario like he could throw fire balls or something, I was clueless.  The game started as soon I put up the switch to turn on the videogame console and then three big words showed up in the screen, the three words were ¨Super Mario 64¨ with the voice of a man saying ¨It´s a me, Mario!¨. After the three words disappeared, a big head showed up from nowhere, the big head said something like ¨Aloh?¨, of course, this big head was from Mario and I was excited the game actually worked. I remember you had permission to distort Mario´s face, for example, lengthen his nose, ears, limbs and his face in general.  After choosing my file and entering Peach´s castle, I entered a room with a picture of a bomb, I jumped on it and it was actually a world called ¨Bomb Battlefield¨. The first language I ever learned as a kid was spanish so I had no idea what I was doing but it was so much fun anyways, I didn´t care at all. After a long time exploring the zone, I decided to climb a mountain until I reached the Bomb King, I remember he challenged you to a duel, basically you have to throw him away once you carry with both hands, doing this three times will defeat him, he´ll give us a star if we manage to defeat him, it´s not a hard fight but I was a kid so it was a pain to me to defeat him. PD: I always thought his white moustache was his open mouth.  That´s basically where everything started to me, getting the star from the Bomb King opened a door upstair, inside that door, there are three windows with Peach´s shape, if you jump on the third one, it´ll take to another world where there´s a big slide, if you managed to complete the slide, there was a star waiting for you at the end of the road. In this slide, there´s another star actually, a bit harder to get since you´ll have to complete the slide in a time I don´t remember well right now.  I think I mentioned earlier but I didn´t know English at that time so I had no idea what to do in the worlds and thanks to that, the game was harder to me, also I didn´t have an internet conection at that time so you could imagine my situation, I must admit that a lot of the secrets of the castle were found by my cousin and not by me, even so, it was fun to play it. A thing that surprises me even today is to see the fanbase of the game, not matter the year, they are still making awesome mods and stuff, not only that, Super Mario 64 is one of those games that has one of the biggest speedrunner scene in videogames in general. When the PC port was released, since day one, there were a lot of people making mods to the game and you know, it´s a nice thing to see the game is still relevant in 2021, really proud of being part of the people that loves this game.  *** # <center> Español </center>  Este es el segundo día del Retro Gaming Blogging Challenge y este segundo día trata sobre nuestro primer videojuego, aquel que nos introdujo al mundo de los videojuegos, como mencioné antes, creo que este challenge es perfecto para recordar de dónde venimos, de vez en cuando, recordar el pasado es importante y esta vez me alegro de poder compartir con todos ustedes cuál juego me introdujo a este maravilloso mundo. Recuerda que si quieres formar parte del challenge, te invito a leer el post del usuario @marcoquin, ahí encontrarás las reglas.  La Nintendo 64 que poseía, venía con varios juegos para jugar, pero había uno que me llamó la atención cuando era un niño, este juego tenía una persona con un sombrero rojo huyendo de un dinosaurio en algo así como un valle o al menos así lucía el cartucho, sabía que el señor se llamaba Mario porque podías verlo en todas partes, pero nunca en mi vida jugué un juego sobre él, no en ese momento, así que tenía mucha curiosidad, este juego se llamaba ¨Super Mario 64¨ y fue el primer cartucho que puse en la consola. No sabía qué esperar, apenas conocía algunos conceptos de Mario 2D como que puede lanzar bolas de fuego o algo así pero aparte de eso no tenía ni idea.  El juego comenzó tan pronto puse el interruptor hacia arriba para encender la consola, apenas arrancó el juego, tres grandes palabras aparecieron en la pantalla, las cuales formaban ¨Super Mario 64¨ seguido la voz de un hombre que decía ¨¡Soy yo, Mario !¨. Después de que las tres palabras desaparecieran, una gran cabeza flotante apareció de la nada, la gran cabeza dijo algo como ¨¿Aloh? ¨, por supuesto, la cabeza era Mario y estaba emocionado de que el juego realmente funcionase. Recuerdo que tenías permiso para distorsionar el rostro de Mario, por ejemplo, alargarle la nariz, las orejas, las extremidades y la cara en general.  Después de elegir mi archivo y entrar al castillo de Peach, entré a una habitación en el que había una pintura de una bomba, salté sobre ella y en realidad era un mundo llamado ¨Bomb Battlefield¨. El primer idioma que aprendí de niño fue el español, así que no tenía idea de lo que estaba haciendo, pero fue muy divertido de todos modos, no me importaba en absoluto. Luego de mucho tiempo explorando la zona, decidí escalar una montaña hasta llegar al Rey Bomba, recuerdo que te desafiaba a un duelo, básicamente tienes que lanzarlo una vez que lo lleves con ambas manos, tenías que hacer esto tres veces y con eso nos dejaba una estrella, no es una pelea difícil pero era un niño, así que las cosas se me complicaban bastante. PD: Siempre pensé que su bigote blanco era su boca abierta.  Ahí es básicamente donde todo empezó para mí. Al final conseguir la estrella del Rey Bomba nos abría una puerta subiendo las escaleras, dentro de esa puerta hay tres ventanas con forma de Peach, si saltas sobre la tercera, te llevará a otro mundo donde hay un gran tobogán, si lograbas completar el tobogán, habría una estrella esperándote al final del camino. En este tobogán, en realidad hay otra estrella, un poco más difícil de conseguir ya que tendrás que completar el tobogán en menos tiempo que no recuerdo bien en este momento.  Creo que lo mencioné antes pero no sabía inglés en ese momento, así que no tenía idea de qué hacer en los mundos y gracias a eso, el juego era más difícil para mí, además no tenía conexión a internet en ese momento, para que te puedas imaginar mi situación, debo admitir que muchos de los secretos del castillo fueron descubiertos por mi primo y no por mí, aun así, fue divertido jugarlo. Una cosa que me sorprende incluso hoy en día es ver a los fans de este juego, no importa el año, todavía están haciendo mods increíbles y ese tipo de cosas, no sólo eso, Super Mario 64 es uno de esos juegos que tiene una de las escenas de speedrunner más grande y activa en videojuegos en general. Cuando se lanzó el port para PC, desde el primer día, había mucha gente haciendo modificaciones al juego y bueno, es genial ver que el juego sigue siendo relevante en 2021, muy orgulloso de ser parte de la gente que ama este juego.
