 It's not something I do all the time, or even regularly, but every so often I get the urge. Actually, it's more like a calling or a building desire to do the activity. It develops over days or weeks or months until it's pretty much all I can think about. Eventually, I buy a tonne of materials (most of which I'll never use) and succumb to one of my hobbies. Here's a few pics of things I made over the last year, when the calling came.  These were super easy because I bought the backs already made and the Pāua abalone shell was pre-drilled. I just fell in love with the iridescence. How could I not buy them!  These were super easy to make. It was just a case of putting everything together.  This crochet cardie is for my youngest granddaughter Daisy. She's very girly and likes everything to either be pink or a daisy flower. I made this using _daisy stitch_. It's also known as _star stitch_ but don't tell Daisy or she won't wear it. It looks a bit complicated but it's not too hard once you get the hang of it. I made this to her measurements. Haven't used a pattern in years which is why all my creations look... erm... organic.  This is a mother of pearl bangle. It was going to be a gift for someone but I liked it too much to give it away. Don't worry, I made a replacement gift.  I made this cardie for my granddaughter Lily. She wanted something gypsy-ish. As you may notice, I did the sleeve a little too short. I'm not going to blame Lily's growth spurt at all. Not me. What type of person do you take me for? I maybe took a little long getting this one finished. And, in fairness to me, I was working without a pattern. And and, maybe someone took the wrong measurements. Just sayin'. Possibilities.  This didn't take long to do at all. Just some jewellery wire, glass beads, pins and an engraved metal bookmark.  My daughter needed a jewellery set for a night out and it had to match her eyes. She's got the most gorgeous mix of blues and greys. These looked stunning on her, even though I say so myself. BTW, she asked for extra-long dangly earrings so that's what she got.  These are fun for the kids (over choking age). The beads are a mix of semi-precious stones, crystals, glass, acrylic and any other crap I could find. They're really easy to do and make great stocking fillers. You just thread stones on a length of memory wire, turn the wire ends into an interesting shape (making sure the sharp end is not going to touch the skin), add a few dangly bits and _voila!_  Notice this one has a tiny pink daisy on one of the dangly bits AND it's got lots of pink too. Daisy approved of this one.  There are lots of bits hanging around that I've made. Here's a beaded bookmark made with crystal, glass, acrylic beads with a wooden flower, attached to an engraved metal bookmark. They make a nice change from the usual kinds of bookmarks.
