> Instead of using a terminal emulator I found using Windows PowerShell as effective.
> I am currently in Shard 1 and block 7497. The status report for the 4 shards says that all 4 shards are Online (note: there is a little delay on updates for the status report).

Several days ago I started to participate in an event initiated by Harmony and Binance. The event was called Pangaea. It was a simulation game of running experimental nodes of Harmony's blockchain. Basically, we run experimental versions of the Harmony network that they have not yet implemented in the mainnet. The main objective was to keep the node running and when a shard dies down we scramble to re-initiate our nodes and make the necessary configuration in restarting our server.

The reward is not that big just, enough to cover the expenses for our cloud computing service provider. However, the value of what I have learned far outweighs the rewards that I am going to get when I receive my rewards. I learned how to Setup a terminal emulator, set up an AWS instance and how to set up a Harmony node. In fact, as part of my learning style, I have written a rather [comprehensive tutorial](https://steemit.com/harmony/@ankarlie/harmony-s-pangaea-use-case-and-node-setup-in-windows) setting up the needed requirements to run the node. If you want to check it out you can find it [here](https://steemit.com/harmony/@ankarlie/harmony-s-pangaea-use-case-and-node-setup-in-windows).

Of course, I was not able to do all this without the help of the Pangaea community and its administrators that are always ready to help out Pangaeans who needed assistance when their nodes go down. There was also my boyfriend who help me set up my Linux rig during the first days of the event.

Today is my 10th day (perhaps even more) in the said event after 2 restarts I think the team at Harmony have a stable enough version of the experimental node for the next phase of the event. Hopefully, I will be able to get the full rewards so that I have enough budget to run the nodes for the rest of the experiment.

I have also established a system on how to check my nodes quickly and efficiently without to go into a virtual session (tmux) within my AWS instance to see if my node is running properly. Still, a lot of commands are foreign to me but as I use them I familiarize myself just like when I first used markdown language.

Through repetition, I was able to memorize some of them and perhaps the time will come that I will not have to use a cheat sheet for the commands when I forget the exact command or when I forgot the format how to execute them. It all boils down to memorization of the proper syntax.

I do not use Putty anymore I use a better alternative. I am now using Windows Powershell for windows to call commands to connect to my cloud service provider. I was able to execute ubuntu bash shell within the windows console but that is better explained at another time. Per experience, the Windows Powershell shell is enough for our purposes and a whole lot easier to access using Windows 10.

Well, goodbye, for now, I hope you enjoy my reflection and update in my Pangaea-node journey. Good day to all of you and stay awesome!
