Getting started
Hello everyone, my name is Anliu Vázquez, 44 years old, originally from Guanare, Portuguesa state. I'm a lawyer by profession, but I'm not currently practicing. I've dedicated myself to the manufacture and restoration of headlights for all types of vehicles. This is a profession and art I've acquired since I was 14. I learned it from my father. He left us with this great lesson: how to work manually with acrylic plastics. I've been able to evolve in some aspects, but it requires a lot of capital to have the most suitable tools to perform a job with greater precision and perfection. However, I've developed the techniques to do a good job.

Since childhood, I've had the gift of imagination and creativity. From a very young age, I drew and managed to earn an income by making drawings and prints for exhibitions to my friends, neighbors, and classmates.

As a teenager, I devoted myself to studying, and in my free time, I worked in my father's advertising workshop, where they made acrylic letters for illuminated signs for any company. They didn't just make those letters; they also restored or made lenses for any vehicle, whether it be a car or a motorcycle.

For many years I was working working in the art of plastic art until I turned 24 years old and I made the decision to study for penitentiary security, it was there where I started my first job in service to the state, starting working in the center of the state of Aragua in 2005, with the position of inspection of the services, I was in charge of the weapons park and the count of the penitentiary population, as well as keeping the books of new arrivals, it was for many years that I was working in that detention center and later I was transferred to other detention centers such as the Yaracuy judicial internment center, the Western Plains penitentiary center, the Carabobo judicial internment center and the Carabobo penitentiary center. I worked for the state for many years as a prison guard, and under certain circumstances, I decided to apply for a service commission to improve my mental health. Within the prisons, there was a lot of corruption, a very corrupt world, not to mention the cruelty that could be seen. This led me to work in the main registry of the state of Aragua.

There, I worked in university degree registries, as well as in applications for birth certificates, marriage certificates, and service certificates, specifically in the archives of that registry. I remained there for three years. I was then transferred to the Technical Guidance Supervision Unit of the Aragua state, where I held various positions, including statistician, archivist, secretary, and probationary delegate. The latter was a task with considerable responsibility, as it involved supervising and guiding those who had been deprived of their liberty, where a court of justice granted them a benefit of freedom under certain measures or conditions that they must serve until the full term of their sentence. I was performing these duties for several years. It is worth noting that during this time working in the main registry and then in the technical unit, I trained at Rómulo Gallegos University for five years to obtain my law degree, which helped me understand various legal areas within this job or role. I reached a point where I decided to resign from working for the state, since many of us know that public employees in Venezuela are poorly paid.

I decided to start working again with an art that I already knew since I was little, an art that I already have mastered, so that I can prepare myself better and advance my own business, be my own boss and be able to teach others this wonderful art, but in my next presentations I will show many things to do and also personal things.

This last image is of my father, who passed away 26 years ago. He was the one who taught me how to work with plastic art. Many thanks to him and to God first.
