https://image.ibb.co/g4PAwT/5.jpg ### Homemade sandwich bread - 450g (1lb) of plain, white flour - 350ml water (slightly warm if possible, below 30 C) - 1 packed of dried yeast - 1 tbsp salt Well, this is the cheap as chips loaf of bread! I’ve managed to pretty much chop the mixture down to fit perfectly into my bread tin, hopefully people have the same sized tins as me.. https://image.ibb.co/bNv5Vo/2.jpg This is a simple white loaf, that’s easily better than any bread Mr. Brennan can pop out! It takes less than 5 minutes to prepare and you can forget about the bread for a few hours once it’s mixed. It’s perfect to make on a Sunday, and it’s there to enjoy during the week. ### Method In a large bowl add the water, yeast and salt and give it a really good mix with a wooden spoon. Next add all the flour, in one go and mix till everything is combined. By now the mixture will be extremely wet, but that’s fine. Cover the bowl with cling-film and set aside for anything from 2 – 5 hours. https://image.ibb.co/nvUzqo/3.jpg Okay, now it’s time to make the bread! This is a tricky part, you need handfuls of flour to keep everything soft and non-sticky. cover the board in flour and scoop the dough out onto it. Cover the top of the dough with lots of flour. The next step is hard to explain, you need to stretch the dough into a ball, by stretching the dough around the bottom on all sides, rotating the dough as you go. (I’ll upload a video during the week on how I do this). Oil up the bread tin! Stretch it into an oval so it fits into the bread tin. Set aside and allow to rise for around 45 minutes. After 30 minutes, preheat the over to 220C. Put a tray on the top rack of the oven with a large dish placed on it, and another rack around 2 spaces up from the bottom. After the 45 minutes, try put 2 – 3 slits in the top of the dough and place it on the bottom tray. Put around 250-300ml of water into the dish on the rack above. Close the oven and leave to cook for around 35 minutes. https://image.ibb.co/dD6OGT/4.jpg Remove the tin and turn upside down so the bread falls out onto a towel, leave to cool on a wire rack. Once it’s cooled, you can start cutting the bread.. I typically cut as I need, but if there’s children in the house who make their own lunches, cut the bread into slices so it’s ready for them. https://image.ibb.co/jYVTi8/6.jpg
