<html> <h3>Heroin is a very dangerous and addictive drug. It contains morphine and other 'mind altering' substances and is made from the poppy seed and the color of this drug will depend on what is added to it. It can be a white or brown powder or even a black tar-like substance called 'black tar heroin'.</h3> <p>Heroin is an 'opioid' which is also find in some pain medication. It is not only the misuse of heroin that causes people to die because of overdosing, but it can also be this prescribed medication that they are addicted to.</p> <p>Heroin is mixed with water and injected straight into the blood stream, but some users prefer to snort it. <strong>No matter how you get it into your body, the damage it causes is the same.</strong></p> <h3>Influence on your body and brain</h3> <p>If the heroin enters the brain, it attaches to the parts of the brain that is responsible for feeling pain and pleasure. These are called the 'opioid receptors'. Your mouth will be dry and your body temperature will rise.</p> <p>Your breathing can slow down so much that it becomes dangerous and you can even go into a coma or die.</p> <p>You can end up with problems of your lungs, mental problems and even sexual problems.</p> <p>The tissues in your nose will get damaged and your heart will be damaged and infected.</p> <h3>And so the list goes on and once again the question is...
