The mandarin ducks include popular water birds in lakes and parks in England and other European countries. Naturally Mandarin ducks are found in eastern Siberia, Japan and eastern China. Generally occupy the lake habitat in the middle of thick dense forest. The food consists of grains, insect water plants and small snails. This duck is increasingly threatened due to habitat loss and hunting. The largest population is found in Japan with an estimated 10,000 eco. In China and Siberia, mandarin duck population is only 2,000.
