# Hive Power: And Here We Are... 15,000 HP, Finally!

Just a week ago, I celebrated making it into the [top 1000 Hivers by total HP](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-hive-power-im-among-the-top-1000-stakeholders-dhb).

Today, I find myself facing another milestone, no less important: I’ve **officially** reached **15,000 HP**.

This milestone doesn’t signify anything in particular, but multiples of 5 and 10 always carry a certain weight—at least for me—when it comes to setting and measuring goals.

Right now, 15,000 HP also represents roughly a quarter of the HP needed to go from **Dolphin** to **Orca**, so it's also a good moment to stop and reflect: **how far can I go?**

It took about **2 years and 8 months** to get to this point.

Not a particularly long time, but not exactly short either.

If I multiplied that time by four, I’d be looking at another 8 years to reach 60,000 HP... and in the meantime, the requirement to reach Orca rank will surely have moved further away—and not by a little.

That said, I now have more arrows in my quiver than I did when I started this journey.

## <center>New Ways to Earn HP</center>

Back then, I had only one way to grow my HP—*excluding purchase*—and that was to write a post or comment and hope to get an upvote.

So I could only rely on **author rewards**.

But as my HP increased, another “source” of Hive Power gradually became more and more important: compared to nearly 3 years ago, my upvote power is now much, much higher, and it allows me to earn a solid amount of **curation rewards** each month.

There’s still a big gap between these two types of rewards, in favor of the former, but over time that gap will close—since curation rewards can, in theory, continue to grow indefinitely.

And in the same way, the **Hive projects** I invest in can continue to grow and bring in more HIVE—and thus HP. **Golem Overlord** is one of the best in this regard, having already earned me well over 320/330 HIVE.

Even my **liquid HIVE** is playing an increasingly important role: through some trading during the usual HIVE pump-and-dump cycles, and other small things I’m gradually learning to take advantage of, my HIVE reserves are growing more and more—and at some point, they'll help me skip a few steps on the way to my next goal.

## <center>Next Goal?</center>

Since I like multiples of 5 and 10, my next short-term goal is to reach **20,000 HP**.

That’s a third of the HP needed to become an Orca.

One-fifth of the way from five to six digits.

5,000 HP is a lot, but I believe I can hit that number by the end of this year—barring any major setbacks.

After all, with each passing day, my ability to generate HP increases, making it less and less likely that losing one of my “sources” would (almost) completely halt my growth.

The more time passes, the more my influence on Hive grows.

And that’s one of the things I love most about Hive: **my time has value, and that value benefits me.**

# Hive Power: E Finalmente Ci Siamo... 15.000 HP!

Appena una settimana fa ho festeggiato l'ingresso tra i [1000 Hivers con più HP in assoluto](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-hive-power-im-among-the-top-1000-stakeholders-dhb).

Oggi, invece, mi ritrovo di fronte ad un altro traguardo, non meno importante: sono **ufficialmente** arrivato a **15.000 HP**.

Non che questo traguardo corrisponda a qualcosa di particolare, ma i multipli di 5 e 10 sono sempre numeri che hanno un certo peso, almeno per quanto mi riguarda, quando si tratta di stabilire obiettivi o risultati da raggiungere.

In questo momento, poi, 15.000 HP rappresentano anche all'incirca un quarto degli HP necessari per passare dal rango di **Delfino** a quello di **Orca**, per cui volendo sono anche un momento in cui ha senso fermarsi a riflettere per chiedersi: **fin dove posso arrivare?**.

Ci sono voluti all'incirca **2 anni e 8 mesi** per arrivare a questo punto.

Un periodo di breve non particolarmente lungo, ma nemmeno così breve.

Se dovessi moltiplicarlo per 4 verrebbe fuori che per arrivare a 60.000 HP ci vorrebbero altri 8 anni... e nel mentre il requisito per raggiungere il rank di Orca si sarebbe sicuramente allontanato, e nemmeno di poco.

E' anche vero, però, che le frecce al mio arco sono aumentate, rispetto a quando ho iniziato questa avventura.

## <center>Nuovi modi di ottenere HP</center>

Un tempo, infatti, avevo solo un modo per aumentare i miei HP - *escludendo l'acquisto* - ossia scrivere un commento o un post e sperare di ricevere un upvote.

Potevo quindi contare solo sulle **author rewards**.

Via via che i miei HP salivano, però, anche un'altra "fonte" di Hive Power è diventata sempre più importante: rispetto a quasi 3 anni, il mio potere di upvote è oggi molto, molto più grande e mi consente ogni mese di ottenere un buon numero di **curation rewards**.

Ancora la distanza tra questi due tipi di rewards è nettamente sbilanciata in favore delle prime, ma con il tempo la differenza è destinata a diminuire, perchè le curation rewards possono, potenzialmente, continuare a crescere sempre più.

E, allo stesso, modo possono continuare a crescere, garantendomi sempre più HIVE, e quindi HP, anche i **progetti su Hive** in cui investo: **Golem Overlord** è, in tal senso, uno dei migliori, avendomi portato guadagni che ormai superano ampiamente i 320/330 HIVE.

Anche i miei **HIVE liquidi** hanno un ruolo che sta crescendo sempre più di importanza: grazie ad alcune operazioni di trading durante le classiche pump-and-dump di HIVE ed altre piccole cose che sto via via imparando a sfruttare, la mia riserva di HIVE cresce sempre più e, ad un certo punto, mi aiuterà a bruciare alcune delle tappe che mi separano dal mio prossimo obiettivo.

## <center>Prossimo obiettivo?</center>

Dato che mi piacciono i multipli del 5 e del 10, il traguardo a cui punto adesso, nel breve termine, è quello di arrivare a **20.000 HP**.

Un terzo degli HP necessari per diventare Orca.

Un quinto di quelli che servono per passare dalle cinque alle sei cifre.

5.000 HP sono tanti, ma credo di poter raggiungere questa somma entro la fine di quest'anno, a meno di sconvolgimenti particolari.

D'altra parte, ogni giorno che passa la mia capacità di generare HP aumenta e rende sempre più difficile che il venir meno di una delle "fonti" a cui attingo arresti (quasi) completamente la mia crescita.

Più passa il tempo e più la mia influenza su Hive aumenta.

E questa è una delle cose che più mi piacciono di Hive: **il mio tempo ha un valore e questo valore va a mio beneficio**.
