HIVE, on the other hand… well, HIVE is hovering around 10 cents, an absurdly low and depressing value for a token that stayed flat when others were rising and now keeps falling even harder as the rest of the market declines. It’s unclear whether this is the beginning of a bear market or a new phase, perhaps a break from the past: maybe prices will rise again in a few months, or maybe not — it’s hard for me to even make assumptions. What I did decide some time ago — and which now seems to have been a wise choice — is to diversify my investment more. For years I focused almost exclusively on HIVE, trying to accumulate as much as possible and even moving small gains I made elsewhere into this ecosystem. Despite its huge potential, Hive — meaning the blockchain — struggles to attract a wide audience. New users do arrive, yes, but they are few and often without funds to invest. Meanwhile, other users leave, sometimes taking with them what they earned from their posts, and it feels like not all of them are being replaced by newcomers. As a result, the platform doesn’t seem to be growing. The average quality of posts tends to be low, with a flood of “content creators” and almost no one genuinely interested in reading what gets published — partly because of a reward distribution system that doesn’t reward interaction but almost exclusively publication. I would love to see Hive succeed. I truly would. But it makes no sense to place all my bets on a single horse. Not because it can’t win — nothing is written yet, and for all we know Hive could be 100 or 1,000 times bigger and more successful ten years from now. More simply, because if it *doesn’t* win, I’d end up with nothing in hand, at least from a financial standpoint. <br> ## <center>Ethereum</center> Since I’ve spent most of my time over the years dedicated almost exclusively to a low-market-cap cryptocurrency, one of the tokens I decided to invest in is the complete opposite: a giant with a huge market cap, with less potential for explosive growth but — hopefully — capable of offering more stability, as well as greater flexibility when it comes to accessing opportunities that, through Hive, are harder to take advantage of. The cryptocurrency in which I’m now building — thanks to arbitrage — a position that is starting to become meaningful is Ethereum (ETH). As I mentioned in [this post](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-1-sol-1-bnb-1-eth-1-btc-and-100000-hp-8vk), my goal is to reach 1 ETH, which at today’s value corresponds to a little over $3000. <center>  </center> It’s not an especially large amount of money, but it would represent passing the value of what I own on Hive. In a way, I actually hope that moment *doesn’t* come, because it would mean HIVE has recovered and given us some satisfaction. HIVE, invece, be', HIVE orbita intorno ai 10 centesimi, un valore assurdamente basso e deprimente per un token che, quando gli altri salivano, è rimasto invece stabile e, adesso che gli altri calano, continua a calare ancora di più. Non è chiaro se questo sia l'inizio del bear market o se si tratti di una fase nuova, forse di rottura con il passato: magari tra qualche mese i prezzi torneranno a salire o magari no, difficile per me anche solo fare ipotesi. Quel che però ho deciso un po' di tempo fa - e a questo punto sembra essere stata una scelta saggia - è di diversificare maggiormente il mio investimento: per anni mi sono infatti concentrato su HIVE, cercando di accumularne quanto più possibile e portando all'interno di questo sistema anche piccoli guadagni che avevo fatto altrove. Nonostante le sue grandi potenzialità, Hive - intesa come blockchain - fatica ad attrarre il grande pubblico. Arrivano nuovi utenti, quello sì, ma sono pochi e spesso senza fondi da investire. Nel mentre altri utenti se ne vanno, magari portando via quello che hanno guadagno grazie ai loro post, e l'impressione è che non tutti vengano rimpiazzati da nuovi utenti. La piattaforma perciò non sembra crescere, la qualità media dei post tende ad essere bassa, con una marea di "content creators" e quasi nessuno davvero interessato a leggere quel che viene scritto, complice anche un sistema di distribuzione delle ricompense che non premia chi interagisce ma quasi esclusivamente chi pubblica. A me piacerebbe vedere Hive avere successo. Mi piacerebbe davvero. Ma non ha senso puntare tutte le mie carte su un solo cavallo. E non perchè non possa vincere: nulla è ancora scritto e magari Hive tra 10 anni sarà 100 o 1000 volte più grande e di successo di oggi. Più semplicemente, perchè se invece dovesse perdere allora mi ritroverei con niente mano, almeno da un punto di vista economico. <br> ## <center>Ethereum</center> Dato che il grosso del mio tempo l'ho dedicato per anni quasi esclusivamente ad una cryptovaluta dalla bassa capitalizzazione di mercato, uno dei token su cui ho deciso di investire è di segno completamente opposto: un gigante dalla enorme capitalizzazione di mercato, con possibilità di crescita esplosiva minore ma capace di offrirmi - si spera - anche più solidità, oltre che flessibilità nell'accedere ad opportunità che tramite Hive possono essere sfruttare solo con una certa difficoltà. La cryptovaluta su cui quindi sto costruendo - grazie all'arbitraggio - una posizione che comincia ad essere interessante è Ethereum (ETH). Come vi avevo raccontato in [questo post](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-1-sol-1-bnb-1-eth-1-btc-and-100000-hp-8vk), il mio obiettivo è arrivare a possedere 1 ETH che, al valore attuale, corrisponde ad un po' più di 3000 dollari. <center>  </center> Non si tratta di una cifra particolarmente grande, ma rappresenterebbe un sorpasso rispetto a quel che possiedo su Hive. La mia speranza, in un certo senso, è di non veder arrivare quel momento, perchè vorrebbe dire che HIVE si è ripreso e ci ha regalato qualche bella soddisfazione.
